In the world of timed matches, does anyone know if it makes a difference whether or not your match, which timed out, was entered as 'retired' instead? Any idea if it has any effect on the whole dynamic NTRP hoopla?
I ask because my last doubles match 'timed' out...meaning we ran out of time and did not actually finish the second set. It should have been entered into Tennislink as 'timed', but instead was entered as 'retired', which should only be used if either me or my partner was injured and quit the match (which neither of us did).
My partner and I had lost the first set 3-6, but we were ahead 4-3 when time ran out. We lost on games, and the score should have been entered:
3-6, 4-3, timed match with our opponents marked as the winners (9 games wins over 7).
I've seen 'retired' used instead of 'timed match' many times, actually, and I don't understand how people confuse them. Anway, still just a sliver of worry (not a lot) about how, if it all, that may effect things.
