Lol heres some information>>
I played since i was about 4, my dads my coach. I HATED tennis and thought that my dad "made" me play it ( they even said that i would regret it, and i do for not liking or trying! )
So now i started again like 1.5 year ago, and i got great results. Since i have experience i got better quickly you know. I also play about 10 hour private, and 2 hour group every week.( i need some hitting partners )

So about 2 years ago, i used to play in my dads group, i used to beat this kid 6-0 6-0 without trying! And now, he is about rank 40 in eastern, and pretty good amount of Wins.
Soooo...if i never hated playing tennis, i would prolly be national 1 right? jk, may be true tho lol.
But then again, who plays tennis for so long and doesnt get pissed at it? Anyone?
Maturity -_-
HEY! ANYONE ELSE WITH THE SAME "hating tennis" PROBLEM??! :/

Actually, this is an interesting issue. I personally don't believe you hated the game of tennis. What I believe (with all due respect to your dad) was being fed by your dad, coached by your dad, helped with homework by your dad, being disciplined by your dad etc. Everything fell around the relationship you had with your dad. I am not dispensing family advise here so PLEASE no one blast me OK.

IMHO it wasn't tennis it was that everything in your life revolved around you and your dad. If the coaching was left to someone else where your dad was acting more of an off hands supervisor I hardly doubt you would have left the game. Would you have been top in the section, country or the world no ever knows for sure. Personally, I just welcome you back and hope you have the most success.

now who is this 40 in the east you are beating 0,0 i might know him

i belong to the eastern section...

Nope. I'm your polar opposite.

My parents didn't push me into tennis. They wanted me to get involved in a sport though. So I tried multiple ones, and fell in love with tennis. I started getting lessons at 6 years old, and I got to a pretty good level at a young age. Then I stopped playing for awhile because of personal problems. Once I resolved those problems, I started playing again and loved tennis even more. I want to be very good. I want to play tournaments and get a good ranking. Problem is, my family is not well-off, so my parents cannot afford new racquets, stringing, tournaments, lessons, etc etc. It sucks...

I kinda am in the same situation as you except I started not because of my dad, however for a few years he wouldnt get me coaching with anyone else as he said he could do it better and I got really fed up.

tenniscrazed that may be the reason. But i actually started to hate tennis because it took off all my life. Like when im outside having fun with my friends and my dad pops up saying "Get dressed for tennis" Then he started doing it on the phone, at random time saying "Get dressed and come to tennis". So everytime the phone rang my heart skipped a beat. My dad actually didnt help me with hw, stuff like that. He was sometimes mean like since i started to hate the sport, i purposely played bad, and then *boom* a ball flying to my stomach lol. So our relationship got messed up.
Mrmo, i dont really wanna name him lol ;) Sorry
Circa, sorry for that. I am tho ur polar opposite lol.
Alexio was ur dad a bad coach? Or u said u got fed up. I dont really get that situation "fed up" lol explain plox!ploxploxplox*

my name is hugh mo

i was ranked 10 in the east for 12s and i just moved up to the 14s

to see my 12s check out the final ranking i ended at about 12 or so

Nice nice lol. U got a pretty good record running, and ur a 4 star too. Seems u got problems with the blue chips tho lol

yeah well ive beaten some respectable players out of the eastern section during my 12s...

to name a few,

elijah cerdan
ryoma haraguchi
aidan talcott
ethan bogard
nick crystal

yeah well he was a pretty accomplished player in the 12s...

if i think who you are and im right... please tell me if your initials are n.b. ?

Yea lol, its n.b.
God...am i the only one that gives the opponent "prizes", or is it cuz i need to play matches to pay more attention to the scores? I dono how but i forget, and end up giving my opponents a lot of presents...

My dad started me off at 5...

It was okay...

But then, he used to get really really mad if I didn't want to go out and play...

So, I stopped liking it and he hasn't made me play, for about 3 years...

I'm 14 now and I picked it back up about a year ago...

Now that I know more about tennis, I found it to be more enjoyable than before when all I knew about tennis was that you hit the ball over the net...

I've had a problem with what my dad's been trying to teach me, he wanted me to use very light and head-heavy Super Oversize racquets because he used them...

Everyone knows that is a BS reason to use a certain racquet.

I also wonder what it would have been like if I had stayed with tennis several years ago...

I also wonder what it would have been like if I was taught by someone other than my dad...

Sounds exactly like me. My grandparents would take me to play every day of the week for about an hour from age 4 1/2 until I got into first grade. There, I had the option of taking classes 4 times a week, and I just did 1 or two for fun. Long story short, I had the background and beginnings to be a pretty good player, but my dislike for sports up until about 10, negatively influenced my game greatly. But hey, I still catch people off guard when I tell them I've been playing for almost 11 years now.

Oh my god, you beat Echizen Ryoma!!!

You're either Tezuka-buchou, Sanada, or someone else...

hey lengendaryprodigy

do you mind telling me who you are?

and which sectional

and who were you supporting lol

did u see me play? if so what did u tink

racquet_jedi , wow i started playing for real when i was about 12.3 or 13 years old as well. I was also just trying to get the ball on the net when i was young, and my dad did scream at me too much ( may be cuz i never tried, so he had a reason)
Haha, i too wonder how i had been if i played like im playing now from the start, we both would of been in the top nationals eh? lol
Keep trying tho, it seems my games improving, and i have a chance again. Good luck!

Dashbarr , lmao same here, i saw ive played for 12 years they do get amazed. Geez, i should of listened when my parents said "when u grow up, u would regret not playing tennis" lol
@#&$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pisses me off knowing that i beat people easily, the people that now are ranked very high...

Problem is, my family is not well-off, so my parents cannot afford new racquets, stringing, tournaments, lessons, etc etc. It sucks...
I'm genuinely sorry to hear that. My family can afford tennis, but only to a certain extent. Strings are not a problem, tournaments aren't, but lessons are just so expensive that I can only have one a week. I know that that's better than nothing, but I certainly understand where you're coming from.

I never hated tennis, just didn't like it much. My parents pushed me into it to, and I started in the middle of 6th grade though. Got into it a lot later, and now I love tennis.

You never know... and why do you assume that if you beat a kid ranked 40 that you would be number 1?

Because i was on a great phase and i dont think i even lost to Anyone 1 year older than me, actually lost to people 2 years older then me cuz when ur young age difference actually counts.
I like assuming facts u know?
