First Wawrinka, now Dolgopolov.
It's Federer turn. Does he have what it takes?
What who takes ?
What the pigeon takes, i.e grains, silly
I was quite happy with tonight's result but then quite sad because my most fervent wish was for peRFection in a desert SF a la IW'12 vs rafael nadal. Now we will have to wait until Miami or however long the pouting Bull will take to recover from his latest setback. Dog bites heal slooooowly, no?
We should be talking about X-0 pigeons.
So let's talk about Gasquet and the bunch of youngsters (90s born) who have never beaten Nadal.
All of this began with Robredo defeating Federer at the USO. He started the trend.
Is this a sequel to the Silence of the Lambs?
LOL at the title of this thread. This is true FOD. It wouldn't surprise me if Almagro beats Nadal to win the French Open this year. With Nadal losing to players who couldn't win a set off him before 2014, anything can happen now...
Nadal is a great of the game but time waits for no man....I fear all the miles he's ran ect are catching up to him.
Nadal is declining this year.
Such a pity he didn't win the AO because now i am not sure at all he's winning the FO (not to talk about defending his US open title).
It had to happen...He is 28 yo in 3 months, time for a slow decline
More like Lord of the Flies
Look at this:
Nadal has played 918 matches so far in his career
Federer: 1199 matches...
I am not gonna count in details but in 2010 when Roger started declining big after his AO win, i guess he was around 900 matches...
Nadal's way, lyrics by "Uncle Nadal"
"Y ahora, el final está aquí
Y así me enfrento el telón final
Mi amigo, lo diré claro
Voy a exponer mi caso, del cual estoy seguro
He vivido una vida que está llena
Viajé todos y carretera ev'ry
Y más, mucho más que esto, Lo hice a mi manera"
Yes, but far noisier. And some feathers will be ruffled.
Nadal's other uncle Miguel Angel Nadal played European pro soccer in Spain until he was 40.
Nadal is just going through a slow patch at the moment. It has happened before.
You don't decline from USO to WTF level in 2 months.
Nadal is still a young man, and he has plenty of gas in the tank. Federer is doing great at 32, and he could have not "declined" at 28 if he wouldn't have been so concerned about messing up his hairdo.
I like how we all aren't devastated about it after 2013, I don't need anything else from the guy. He exceeded my expectations a long time ago.
So happy to see Nadal lose, that too by a point.
I just hope Nadal continues to play for few more years and give us more of these wonderful moments.
The wear and tear is showing on Nadal. I think 2014 was always going to be a down year for him.
Why the hate? Let him at least surpass the slam record, fer crying out loud.
At least he still had a full head of hair at 28. rafael nadal?...not so much!
Well played, sir. Well played!
Nadal had his moment of glory when he sported those long locks circa 2006. His follicular glory days are far behind him now.
Yeah but at least Nadal should finally be able to make it to 3rd round of Wimbledon for the first time since 2011. That counts for something right?
The long haired , pirate pants + sleeveless shirt Nadal had so much more personality and charisma than the post 2009 short haired, tired, jaded , whiny version.
This is actually the Silence of the Pigeon.
The other pigeons have spoken, even roared, and yet one remains silent and pscyhologically damaged beyond repair. We follow his tragic journey as he tries desperately to come to terms with his pigeonary silence in a film that represents something like a mix of Girl Interrupted and Fight Club.
So poetic .
Maybe the rest of the pigeons will have their revenge, clearing the path for the silent one
They'd best get a move on then so that 'the pigeon' can do the business as soon as possible.
I identify totally with this person you talk of. So dreamy...
Tell me more, tell me more!
Monday: Ferrer def. Federer
Tuesday: Monaco def. Djokovic
Wednesday: Almagro def. Nadal
Thursday: The Rapture
