Revo 4000 or Pioneer DC with Wise?

I'm going to buy a new stringing machine within the next few weeks. As of right now I'm deciding between an Aplha Revo 4000, and a Pioneer DC (with Wise attachment). The deciding factor would be whether or not they are the same machine aside from the crank and drop weight systems. I'd like to save the few hundred bucks on the Pioneer DC, but I am willing to pay the extra money for the 4000 if it's a better quality machine. Can anyone tell me if there are any differences in the machines aside from the tensioners? Do they basically have the same mounting and clamping systems? If not, is it worth it for the 4000?

I'd stay away from a drop weight. If you spend the extra money for the Wise and need to mount the DW back on later you won't like it even a little bit. If you get the REVO and need (want) to go to the Wise later on you still can and going from Wise to LO is not hat different. I'd save a few hundred now and get the Wise later.

Perhaps you misunderstood what I was asking. I'm getting the Wise either way. My questions is whether or not to get the DC, or the Revo as a platform to attatch the Wise too. No matter what I'll be using the machine with a Wise attached to it, I just wanted to know if the Revo is a better machine overall, and not just because its a crank. Does it have better clamps? Mounting system? Or are they the same?

I would get a Revo. I have had great success with my Wise/Revo set up. I dont think you will be disappointed.

Reno by a mile! But if you're going to spend roughly $1300+, I'd bag the Wise and get a quality upright (Neos, Gamma or Alpha). First an upright is just a better stringing experience and second, you can compensate on tension capability and I'd much rather have better the clamps/mounting, etc. that you're going to find on a quality upright. Good luck whatever you do.

Call New Tech Tennis and ask them.

the clamps, the table, the 6 point mounting system is exactly the same on both stringers. The Revo 400 gives you a bigger base and a larger storage area. With a WISE on a Pioneer, it's a little cramped.

I started with a Pioneer, but bought a Revo base when I got my WIse. I've since taken the the table off and mounted it to a rolling tool cart with drawers and storage. I mounted the Wise to the top of the tool cart. It's an awesome setup ! I can store all my strings, stringing tools, cans of new balls, etc.

I like that cart where is it available from?

Revo is a better choice because you can easily unmount the crank and mount the wise head on the arm with the supplied adapter for the wise to slide onto the bar in a matter of minutes.

I have the Pioneer DC drop weight, and once I removed the weight mechanism, I had to drill new holes in the base to allow for proper location of the gamma adapter which I had to order separately. It all worked out, just a lot more effort to get there.

As someone mentioned, I would really dislike having to go back to the drop weight. Spoiled.
