RF97 10.0(2014) Customization Reccomendations

Hi! So I have the RF97(the red and black one) that came out in 2014. I used to use the 11.0 RF with an overgrip, balanced at about 362g. with lead tape under the grip too. After trying something else, I'm looking for a similar playstyle with a lighter weight. I tried the Wilson Ultra 2.0 Tour with 1/2in. lead tape on the 3 and 9 decals, and I liked the swing and maneuverability of that better than the RF. I have the 2014 RF without any additional weight on it, and I've heard that this racket is more maneuverable than its newer models(11.0, 12.0, 13.0). What would be the string recommendations or even racket recommendations for this?

The original RF97 was a log. It's twistweight was a fair bit higher and it played super solid. The best racquet at punishing high balls on the forehand side that I have used. Only issue is that it isn't an easy frame to use, just like the other RF97s. If you are looking for an easier to use RF97 I wouldn't recommend using any RF

Twistweight
2014 - 14.9
Subsequent models - 13.94

That makes sense, the racket was pretty unwieldy. Looks like the blade 8.0 with lead tape might be a good alternative.

I would also recommend trying the regular PS97 or getting your hands on the PS97S either Gen. Loved the classic PS feel on the PS97S w/ the thinner beam and composition despite it having a 18x17 pattern.

Hello
I read that you have added lead tape to your grip. I want to do that too, and have some questions.

Did you roll the tape around the grip? if yes, did you place it under the base grip?
If you did, how many layers did you put? How did it change the shape of your racquet?

Even if you didn't do anything I mentioned above, I would liketo know what you did :D
Thanks

hey, a relative took off the overgrip and placed the lead tape vertically from the bottom of the leather grip i have all the way to the end of the grip(the finishing tape). It was placed on both bevels. I heard that you can put the lead tape on the actual handle of the racket, but that means you would have to strip the overgrip and replacement/leather grip. you can also put silicone inside the handle(take out the butt cap).
