Tsonga in 5. They seem friendly. Just checked, 5 of their 6 meetings are on clay, two 5set matches at RG. Its sure seems like a thriler.

Head says Stan Heart Says Tsonga

it would be nice to see a Frenchman in the final

and I just say in the final...cause I feel like whoever comes out of the other side of the draw (ferrer murray novak or Rafa) will win it

Head and heart says Wawr.

He defeated Tsonga in DC Final on clay in four sets. He's technically technically superior player than Tsonga on slow surfaces and he has better mentality too.

Tsonga and Stan have played twice at the French, splitting 5 set matches, and their H2H is tied 3-3 (5 of those were on clay, with Stan leading 3-2). No player has ever won a match in straight sets!!

So, this should be a good match.

Crazy that Stan could reach another slam final, what a 24 months.

Will be supporting Jo despite loving both, Stan's legacy is secure, if he loses he is still a grand slam champion. Jo could define his career/legacy in the next few days...

Didn't kmow Jo was #83 in the race before the French, has he played much this year. He had that injury. When was the last time he lost to a non big 4 in a slam, the retirement v Gulbis 2013 Wimbledon.

A Nadal Tsonga final would probably be the most partisan crowd in sports history.

Can't wait for Friday as I finish exams that morning, can actually watch some tennis!

Want to see a Frenchman in the final but won't be too gutted to see Stan there instead. Should be a good match!

Oh man yeah. I'll expect Wawa to win (I think he's a bit stronger on clay) but I'll be cheering for Jo like crazy. Allez, allez, time for a Froggie to shine!!

Exciting match in prospect. A couple of classics in 2011 and 12.

Wawrinka is a bit more experienced on the big stage and should prevail in 5.

I think the outcome of this match will be determined on how it is scheduled. Last time Tsonga reached the semis it was right after the epic Nadal-Djokovic match. The crowd never got into it due to exhaustion, and Tsonga got demolished by Ferrer. Should it be scheduled late again, things won't be easy.

If however Tsonga gets the early match, the crowd will be motivated, which in turn will motivate Tsonga, and we'll almost certainly get the first French male finalist since 1372.

Ooooor Tsonga realized that he's French and will choke. Or there is a possibility that Wawrinka realizes who he is and will also choke.

I know what I want and that is a French finalist at the French.

God damn, Wawrinka was 25/1 at the start of the tournament and I was seriously tempted...oh well. What was Tsonga at the start?

Agree with Rock Strongo...

I'm guessing Stan in 4, mentally Jo seemed to almost lose it in those last few sets. It's when he's playing without pressure that he's at his best.

I think Stan wins this one, he's playing so well at the moment. Also would much rather see Stan in the final than Tsonga for the simple fact that if it's either Djokovic or Nadal on the other side, he can take it to em and make it a good match. Tsonga, with the 5 setter today, will be tired and I would be surprised to see him play well in the final, especially if it's against Djokovic.

This match has a little needle.

The two had a war of words after Stan won Oz, Jo said he deserved a slam or something.

Then a small dust up backstage after the DC final.

Dig Stan, but am definitely rooting for:

Hoping for an exciting one, and that the winner takes the title.

The scheduling could play a role, but this time no Nadal-Djoker in the SF :)

I think all the players on the other side would rather Tsonga makes the final.

I like the guy a lot, but Stan just has the IT factor when he enters Stanimal mode. And when does, it doesn't matter who is on the other side, they are in for a world of pain. It will make the final very exciting in my opinion, nothing against Tsonga, but I feel it will be a case of When and not If, Tsonga goes into a lull, it will be over.

Wawa should do this I think. If Tsonga can play at a consistent level he's got a shot. Imagining that crowd on Sunday with Tsonga there makes me want Jo to win.

Damn right. Last two matchups have gone 5 at RG.

Break out your popcorn and candy, kids. It's gonna be a thriller.
And some people were complaining that it will be an anti-climax after Djokovic V Nadal. Tennis fans should be happy, regardless of who wins the title. This is a great semi final showdown.

Two big hitters going at it. Love em' both (as tennis players of course) . This will be taped and in my collection. The crowd noise will be awesome and electric.

Man, two guys who can produce unreal aggressive tennis at times. Scary tennis. I wouldn't be surprised with any outcome really. Rooting for Stan the Man though...

Stan in 4. He won't fall into the trap of hitting too many balls to Tsonga's FH. He'll wear out Tsonga's lame BH. I actually think it's probably 3 straight but can see him gifting the 3rd - or gets distracted by the lousy Parisian crowd.

Something like 62 64 57 63.
