RG already is the more successful tournament for Fed among the last 4 slams he played

Also remember this is his last French Open. He's not playing next year because of Olympics and he'll be retired by 2021. So he's going all out on Friday.

Paradoxically, every time he has an outing like this, he extends his career.

If he'd bowed out in the 2R or 3R, OK. Time to call it. Take your yearlong victory lap and enjoy retirement.

But going to the SFs while only dropping one set (to the 2015 champ no less), on your supposed "worst surface"? That says "I'm not even close to done."

Clayerer!
Last slams performance for Fed:
RG 19, SF with slim chance to improve that.
AO 19, R16
USO 18, R16
Wimbledon 18, QF
His best Slam performance since he won AO 18.
Same can be said for 2010-11

W - QF
USO - SF
AO - SF
RG - Final
