Nadal is really playing so well right now. Thiem isn't playing a bad match at all, people shouldn't bash him. This is the best Nadal has looked all clay season IMO.

Thiem's problem is the game plan. He's got shot making ability, but he's standing back by the stands most of the time. Not that hitting out would win him the match or even make it close because he would never sustain it, but at least it's the right thing to do.

Anyone who's seen Nadal in the tournaments leading up to RG - this isn't the same player. It's just ridiculous how well he's playing here. Almost no errors at all and the ability to run down basically everything but shots that are out of this world - can't defend that.

So what you're saying is Rafa gets #TurntUp for the slams?

See this is why I don't watch the WTA. They can''t even throw the GD ball up in the air and serve it properly. Thus they have a combined total of 11 DF's (I think). And it's only in a first set TB.

Why does Thiem keep running around on his FH and waiting a year for it to come past the baseline before he hits it? Just step in and hit a BH. Nadal gets plenty of time to be back in position with how long he's waiting for the ball to get to him.

How people still doubt this I have no idea.

It's easy. There's one guy that can still legitimately beat him regardless of how well he's playing. In that case I think Nadal is a slight favourite, but there is a big difference between slight favourite and "Nadal's to lose."

Nadal has never lost a grand slam match after being down two sets to love. This is all part of Thiem's plan to get inside his head and destroy him from within.

Who does Nadal potentially play in the next couple of rounds ?

More seriously:

R3: Leonardo Mayer (ARG) / Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS) (1 set all)
R4: Jack Sock (USA) / Steve Johnson (USA) / Dusan Lajovic (SRB) (1 set up) / Jurgen Zopp (EST) (1 set down)
