Alcaraz now grunting loudly both before and after he hits a shot as well as when the ball passes the net but gets the hold!

Carlos isn’t even playing better, Sinner’s level is just in the Paris catacombs right now. Again this hasn’t been some epic turnaround as much as Sinner just completely collapsing. Really low level stuff, it’s honestly up there with the most disappointing match I can remember.

It has been terrible on both sides. Not sinner’s level.

The winners to UE isn't great, but at the same time - these are two of the great defenders and movers in the game today. Some shots that would be winners against anyone else get returned with interest. After a few rounds of that you can get pressured into making errors.
Mmmm 6 double faults in barely 2 sets by the so called 2 best players in the world? Sinner with just 54% first serve percentage? It’s not been great.

Good troll post. Show me where I said that. I said Alcaraz didn't hold up his end of the deal. Now do the math. If the math says that means it's a quality match then you should be worried
Thank you. I was trolling a bit, as I don't think W/UE's alone determine the quality of a match but this match has just demonstrated what a shocking tennis evaluator you are once again.

The BH exchanges are not favouring Sinner right now. He needs to keep it a FH exchange, he's playing much better from that side.

To be fair, that is pretty standard for Sinner's first serve. He hits 60 once in a blue moon. In this set it is ridiculously low though.

im hoping sets 3 and 4 are great levels. Although funny enough, I want Ruud to win the tournament. This many be his last great chance, and although I find his game to be painfully boring and meh, he is a true and ultimate gentleman and he deserves a slam

:-D :-D nothing I said was shocking. Sinner was playing great up until the post I made. Nice trolling again.

Alcaraz has the memo at this point. You could see it at the end of the first set and now more fully that he's warmed up for the second set. The ball needs to go high and out of Sinner's strike zone, just like it did in IW.

If it works, Sinner will have to hit through Carlos by generating pace on high balls with his bent-arm forehand and jumping backhand. This is really hard to do on clay, and most likely everyone on this board will say that Sinner suddenly dropped level and turned into a mug, doesn't have what it takes to be a champion, and is a fake number 1. We'll probably see generally bad W to UE counts because the rallies won't be the type that generate forced errors, and there will be lots of complaints about the quality of this generation.

If it doesn't work, Sinner will punish balls in his strike zone, draw a lot of wild shots out of Alcaraz on the heat-to-heat groundstroke rallies, and everyone will tell us what a choker Carlos is and how this generation sucks.

It's a win-win!

I'm looking at when the ball is in play mainly - it's really not as bad as the stats make it look, some ferocious hitting. Have they played better matches? Yes for sure. Is this the worst they've played this tournament? I don't think so, they're just facing each other

Of course there are a few too many DFs for my liking and a couple of questionable decisions, just think we need to wait to see how the next hour or two pans out
