How does Alcaraz go from playing like he did in the first set to playing like this? Like, what happens inside his brain or in his body? He looked completely out of sorts and off balance then and now he looks like he's in total command.

Five games in a row!
Sinner started out absolutely flying, and he was probably rattled by that. He got it together well in the second, even if it was probably helped by Sinner's level dropping. His dip at the end of the third was worse.

Sure, but I don’t think it will mimic Fedal. There is no clear match-up advantage for one guy over the other here which is what contributed to that said mental edge
I actually do think Sinner has a match up edge here but I think like that rivalry Carlos could dominate this rivalry on clay even in his down years and use those wins as a continuing source of confidence and momentum in their overall rivalry. Obviously very speculative but I could see it playing out that way.

Extremely sad that slams these days are won by players who not only can't beat a 36 years old Djokovic, but collapse 6-1 6-1 against him on a regular basis.

If Djokovic didn't withdraw, Alcaraz was never going to win the title.
Djokovic is just better than all these players. Even a 37 year old Novak is better.
They have to wait for him to retire and win slams.

Courier: "Alcaraz has so much more variety than Sinner. That's a big difference between them, as well as stamina, If Sinner loses this match, he might have to re-examine his preference of hitting every ball as hard as he can. It will work against lesser players, but not the top players."
