Well.............. this is the Other Equipment section isnt it?

I tried a ribbed replacement grip, or contoured, whichever you wanna call it. To be specific, it was the Gamma Hi Tech gel contour grip. Why? I sweat a lot, and I constantly felt that my grip was slipping and twisting as I swung, mainly on forehands. I decided to give this granny-style grips a try. It took a bit of getting used to since the ridges are very contoured, but I got the hang of it very quickly. I immediately felt mroe secure and felt I didnt have to grip as tight to swing, cause didnt fear my racquet spinning in my hand or slipping away. This really gave me more freedom to go for my shots. On the downside, this particular ribbed Gamma grip is very thick, so it probably increased my 4 3/8 babolat handle to a 4 1/2. It did feel a bit thick, specially since I use a western grip. I sanded my handle a bit and felt better. Now that Im gonna buy a new Bab Pure Storm GT, I wonder about the other choices on ribbed grips out there, cause I would probably prefer one that feels less thick, and the contours are not as deep. Anyone else likes these kinds of replacement grips? Got any suggestions for me, as well as comments, feedback etc etc??

um...wow to the title

try this. Get a strip of overgrip, cut thinly, and use it to be the "rib", then wrap your normal overgrip over that.

I actually tried it Swiss, but didnt use an overgrip. Insted I used double-sided tape, the kind used to paste not too heavy things to tiles and stuff like that. I cut it thinly, liky u say, and tried it but didnt really do it for me. I preffered the Gamma, still. My dilemma now is wether to buy my sticks with a 4 1/4 grip size, and stil get the Gamma Gel contoured, or try other ones that maybe are not so thick. Have you tried any contoured grips? Anyone else?

ps: and what about the title? you naughty boy, you! dirty mind ;)

Fair enough, would the contoured grips be harder to change grips with though? say a hard serve comes to your backhand and your ready for a forehand... or vice versa. sorry about that last post, late night and I forgot how to be decisive about whats funny and whats not. I was taking a look around TW and i came across this...http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Babolat_Smart_Grip_Kit/descpageACBAB-BSGKIT.html, im not to sure what it is but "Now offered in a kit, the Smart Grip can now be added to any racquet. This ergonomic grip is adjustable so the racquet feels more natural in the hand. Improved from the original smart grip, there is more flare at the butt cap for a surer sense of feel. "

There u go.....

Actually, once I got used to the grip, which didnt take long, it wasnt a problem, I got used to changing grips, from FH to BH pretty normally. It even felt better, more secured, cause of the ridges and cause I got used to them and somehow my hand found the most comfortable position to be in.
That Bab product seems very interesting, although Im not very clear about what it actually is, maybe on the Babolat page I can find some more info or on other sites. I like a cushy grip, so thats maybe a reason why I liked this Gamma contour gel thing. I was wondering if there are others here who have used other contoured grips. Its not that abnormal a product, I see several pro players using them, not as contoured as the Gamma, but they are ridged. Top of my head, I think Henin used one. Any users around the forum?
