Ridiculous Djokovic Hype

Oh great. The recently-returned-from-hibernation Djokonatics are bumping every past Nole thread.
They developed carpal tunnel syndrome while churning out 713 "Nole is GOAT!" threads ever since Wimbledon. So they've turned to bumping threads because it's less work than typing a few lines. Few things suggest lack of a hobby or fulfillment than going through 5 year old threads here to bump them to "prove" a point.

Didn't Birdman beat Fed & Djoker back to back in Wimby '10?

He wouldn't need a rematch against Djoker in Wimby '11 because Birdman already had proven his worth against Djoker hehe!

Did you respond the same way whenever some old thread about Federer was bumped to prove a point? Somehow I doubt that. :censored:

For the record, not a big fan of bumping myself either.

When there was a literal bumping avalanche happening in January/February this year after Fed won #20 and the whole past year when he did well, it was all completely cool to spend time digging old stuff up to make a point how people were wrong to underestimate Federer. And I was fine with that, even when my failed predictions were dug up (and believe me, I was very wrong about Fed), even when there were two separate bumps for the same freaking post. Yet an occasional bump from me after 2016 FO and some that happened late this year resulted in moaning instantly. They can dish it out 24/7, but can't take it even for a minute, and will try to convince everyone that others were more disrespectful, distasteful or whatever in that moment than they ever were. Sanctimonious, phony hypocrites. No wonder I am being more of a cynic here with each passing day.

Djokovic recently won his second grandslam, two years after his first one and now the hype surrounding him is absurd. Never have I seen this much hype. Murray, Berdych and Soderling hype is kind of funny, but saying Djokovic will win Wimbledon? Come on.

Is it all a big joke or something?

Djoko has not been that consistent so far but he's also still young. He DOES have a very high potential on hard court. He's won 2 AO, Miami, IW, Canada, Paris indoor + WTF + played 2 USO finals.
Which current player has a better record on hard outside of Fed?
To me, the hype is well deserved. Djokovic is almost a year younger than Nadal and if he toughens up mentally, he certainly has plenty more big successes ahead of him.
About grass, I agree with you. But who says he's gonna win W other than Djoko himself? And Djoko himself should believe in his own chances, why not? No one is gonna do it if HE doesn't .

Spot on, as usual.

Yep, there was no thread bumping after AO17, W17 or AO18. God I wish I was so kewl and smart like you fed fans.

Here you can see who knows tennis and who doesn't. In 2015 I wrote several times that Federer will win more slams and many Fed fans opposed that. Here, you see that Veroniquem knows tennis.

It looks like I bumped this thread because the comments before me for some reason got deleted. I think @Enceladus bumped it with pics of Djokovic's "natural surfaces" titles and I have no idea why that got deleted because there was nothing wrong with it. Thanks to @Enceladus anyway because it was an entertaining read. Side note, funny how some complain about threads about some players being bumped but not others.

What do you think Federer fans did during the nearly 5-year slam drought after 2012 Wimbledon? They didn't go into hibernation en masse to wait out the storm.

No. Instead, they posted rubbish in large quantities "Djokovic is ugly", "Djokovic is boring", "Nadal is a doper", etc.

And in more than a fair share of these cases, the older threads were bumped by someone who was regularly active. Saying that with confidence because I contributed to a good part of that.

Regarding not going into hibernation, that's rather interesting. Because, their regular presence resulted in spewing garbage about Djokovic's domination and general achievements all the time, and moaning about anything that Nadal does in his matches, to the point of an unhealthy obsession, while both were kicked when they were down as much as Fed or anyone else, probably even more (not disputable for Rafa at least). Dealt with the storm so well, no? But hey, forget that, or the fact that it's way more comfortable and easier to handle losses and gloat after wins on a random, toxic internet site when a person is member of by far the largest fan group, that not even "en masse" departures could affect those standings. Making their presence known all the time is the only thing that counts, and that gets massive applause from me.

I'll leave it to everyone else to figure out if it's a sarcastic one or not.

I am definitely not a fan of convenient disappearing and reappearing, whoever we are talking about. Hard for me to understand that, as no matter what goes on in the current season, I am a fan of tennis before anything else. Though if a poster is always here but causing an ugly atmosphere on a regular basis, I don't rate him or her any higher than the ghosts I mentioned in the beginning. :p

Just my thoughts, the post is not directed at anyone in particular.

I want to laugh at you, but back then even I didn't think he would win Wimbledon, let alone beat Nadal in the final.

A Wimbledon poker is no joke. ;)

I have never seen them in brutal mode. More like pussycat going "meow" mode.

An elephant being attacked by an ant.

And anyway, though RF beating Novak is not sci-fi but is close to LOTR.
In fairness, this deserves a bump too. Barely a month later Fed beat him again. Third time that year. Gluttons for punishment, I guess.

Agreed. I'm surprised that people don't recognize greatness when they see it.

Djokovic's game is based on movement. He does a ridiculous amount of running even against qualifiers in Round 1. With time the movement, intensity will fade. As good as Djokovic's defense is, he does not have a naturally aggressive game (as Federer's for ex) - so he can't expect to have a prime of 3-5 yrs or break Federer's slam record.

Del Potro is a different story. He has enough weapons. He is also mentally tougher than Djokovic.
