Rinderknech's grunting

Loud grunting is one thing, but Rinderknech's grunting is legitimately hinderance. His grunt often occurs as the ball is crossing the net, not as he's hitting the ball or shortly afterwards.

Sabalenka's grunting is too loud and too long, but Rinderknech doesn't even start grunting until the ball is at the net. Tennis has to get this nonsense under control. Grunting should have volume and time limits that are enforced.

Hawkeye calls in/out. Easy to have decibel and time limits that end the point in favor of the non-grunter. Time to end this unsportsmanlike BS.

I agree and I said this yesterday during the match that his grunting is done intentionally to be a hindrance. Zverev should have called him out for it,

I recently met my first proper grunter in real life. I just couldn't stop giggling. It's so pathetic.

When I saw him at USO against Medvedev in '22, he was changing his shoes before Med service games and they were OBVIOUSLY treated with something serious and long lasting to make them squeak for several games. He would split up and back over and over on Medvedev's serve, and it was worse even than Ostapenko's ********. I noticed it after the first time, and Medvedev noticed it the 2nd time and started yelling at him, and he just went there and beat him down with extreme aggression. It was a beautiful sight to see, but I've been saying that guy is a garbage cheater ever since.

I think Fritz and Arthur also had some similar beef.
Who knows what everyone else thinks of him. He’s now top 30 so he’ll be a consistent Ticket to these M1000 tourneys and mostly seeded.

far be it from me to 'defend' grunts...
