Bone marrow cancer has taken down the very talented film actor and author. He died at his Connecticut home at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife of 30 years and his two children.

What else could one expect, after the brilliant Charles Grodin lead role in original of that film? A fascinating personality in interviews, that dry deadpan sense of humor will be missed.

Charles was a natural playing the heel Lenny in the original The Heartbreak Kid, upstaged by the writer/director Elaine May’s craft in this scene and by the acting of May’s real life daughter Jeannie Berlin:
