RIP Chester Bennington

I just saw the news that the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, has died at only 41 years of age. The article I'm reading suggests that he hung himself in order to end his life. I used to listen to LP a lot in my teen years and... Well... I don't know what to say. He leaves behind a wife and 6 children.

I'm really at a loss for words, RIP Chester, and I hope his family manages to overcome this tragic incident.

I got into LP because of the girl I was dating at the time was a fan. Got into them more on my own. Sad to hear.

Singing along to the entirety of Hybrid Theory track by track at Download 2014 = one of my top all time festival highlights. Very sad news this evening :(

Met those guys multiple times and they were all very humble and nice people, even when they were at the top and selling a ton of records. Really sad.

I feel like all the hope his music gave to my life in my high school years just up and went away retrospectively after learning about his death this morning. :(

RIP, Chester.

Definitely sucks to hear. He had previous demons years ago from what I understand that he was battling. Hybrid Theory was a big part of my middle school days.

So he just sees the devastation and pain that Chris Cornell's suicide did to his family, fans and friends and then
hangs himself too? Suicide will never make sense and will always hurt.

The saddest thing of all is that he has 6 kids.

I agree. I have mixed feelings on this, the concept of suicide when you're leaving children and a wife behind deeply troubles me.

In the end we need to help people help themselves, and be willing to help themselves... Now if only that was an easy thing

When I was younger I thought suicide was selfish, but over the years I've learnt it's not as simple as that. It's incredibly upsetting to see so many people still think this way - perhaps they are young and naive too. There needs to be so much more done with mental health awareness and support.

It depends on the circumstances. It's something else when you have a wife and young children IMO (selfish is the wrong word though). Anyways, not the place for this discussion.
