RIP Peggy Lipton

Starring as Julie Barnes in The Mod Squad in the late 60’s, the gorgeous young lady caught my eye!

Ms. Lipton went on to marry musical icon Quincy Jones and become mother of two talented daughters before resurrecting her acting career in Twin Peaks during the 90’s.

Her daughter Rashida Jones (Parks & Recreation and Angie Tribeca) issued the public statement of her mother’s death and said she had been in a long struggle with cancer.

Damn, I’m getting old when my idols from high school are passing away!

I watched this show as a kid but disliked the movie remake in 1999. Sometimes taking a tv show to the big screen is hit or miss. Mission Impossible is the only tv show that I can think of that was succesful as a movie franchise, it also helps when you have Tom Cruise as the star.

Her daughter is Rashida Jones the actor? And her ex was Quincy Jones...who knew?

Everything was better in the 70s except they had no smart phones or PlayStations
Americans, on average, were skinnier back in the 60s and 70s. The fattening of America appeared to started in the 80s and 90s -- even more processed and fast foods than before. The low-fat craze after the 70s contributed to a marked increase in sugar intake. So, even tho fat content was reduced, calories were not. Fat calories where replaced with sugar/carb calories. Sometimes even more calories than before. And more sugar consumption made us hungrier than before. Fats satiate hunger whereas sugar makes us want to eat more.

Atari and others were there in the 70s. Some classic arcade games from that era. (And home game systems also started in the 70s). Arcade games of the era included Pong, Computer Space, Space Race, Breakout, Space Invaders, Sprint, Indy 500, Asteroids, Galaxian, Lunar Lander, Tank, Night Driver & more. Missile Command and PacMan were developed in the late 70s (but were released in 1980, I believe).

Lost her virginity in 1964 to Paul McCartney, as she details in her autobiography. Here they are in 1964 in Bel Air.
