Check out this video, pretty interesting. He didn't have plans to play college tennis but got offered at Wofford after going to a summer camp there. No plans to really turn pro but he won some Futures doubles events right out of the gate. Saw him play at Wimbledon with Lloyd Harris where they beat Dodig/Krajicek. At the US Open he's playing with Albano Olivetti (??) they beat Sock and Isner first round then two seeded teams and now they are in the quarterfinals.

Great interview and insights to the mind and mentality of a pro tennis player. Lots to read between the lines that could've included deeper insights that would have easily doubled the interview time. Bottom line is this guy has a great work ethic and positive mindset. Love to see the smaller college players making an impact on the pro game, singles, doubles, whatever the level. Something tells me this guy will go far after pro tennis and can see him becoming a top coach someday.

Yes. Would love to see non P5 players shine at this level. No reason to think only the OSUs of the world can get you there

Right, guys like Salisbury, Lammons, Kopfer, Moreno de Alboran, Patten are getting it done. All non-P5 players. I know, mostly doubles players and some listed are tour level, others boarder line tour or Challenger.

I see Lammons and Withrow practice sometimes at the local public courts here in Austin, it's pretty amazing that most people have no idea of who they are or what they've accomplished.

He's a nice guy. I met him when I was an assistant with another team and we played at Wofford in a fall tournament (2013?). I was stringing a racquet for one of my guys and Rob walked in the stringing room with a boot on his foot. Thanks to Wofford's archaic machine, we hung out for a good 45 minutes. I remember thinking what a composed young man he was, and that I would never ask to borrow their machine again. Great to see what he's done so far. He's been out there grinding for not much money for quite a while. A few Slam quarters can make a difference.
