Some do not even take into account that most of the H2H Djokovic-Roddick matches took place before Prime-Nole era (since 2011). Djokovic from 2011 was a much stronger player than in 2010. In a potential final, Roddick 2009 could make one set, but Djokovic 2015 would not allow him any more.

A Virus that TTW has waaay too much sympathy for.

4 time Wimbledon champ beats the best Wimbledon virgin ever in 4.

Best Wimbledon virgin ever?

2015 Djokovic in 4 tight sets . Don't underestimate Roddick serve and overall game. He will be very tough to put away, tougher than Federer 2015 because it becomes a totally different match.

2004 F Roddick? Now that guy is going to be very very tough to contain. Novak in tight 5.M mental ability matters a lot in these conditions

People need to stop treating Roddick at Wimbledon as a journeymen.
He gave 2 top 8 non Federer performances there.

Federer's return matches up relatively great vs Roddick compared to Djokovic. Djokovic is better at hard and deep returns vs average 1st servers and punishing weak 2nd serves, neither which Roddick really gives. I don't think anyone ever returned Roddick's serve like Federer did in his prime.
Nadal arguably returned better Roddick's serves. Nadal destroyed 25-year-old Roddick at Queens 2008.

Djokovic, without a doubt.
He had a monster return and extremely solid baseline tennis, too strong for Roddick. Yes, we can think about what happens if he would serve perfectly, but we know the answer, you cannot serve good enough against prime Djokovic. Andy would face too many returned serves, and against Djoker he just has almost no chance from the baseline.
Djokovic, clearly, in 3 or 4 sets.
(Edit: even if it's a close match, Djokovic is a lot stronger mentally(lets just take Roddicks missed volleys having chance for 2-0 lead in '09)
Very well said, Djokovic in 3 or 4 sets is the right answer. Roddick is extremelly overrated, just a server with poor baseline game like Kyrgios, with the difference that Rodick took tennis seriously.

Djokovic wins. I actually think Roddick from the 2004 Wimbledon final would stand the better chance (although probably still loses a tight one).

“Destroyed”
7-5, 6-4

Well on grass you dont get a lot of breaks. If you saw the match it was pretty destructive. Roddick was never in Nadal's service games, and was often in danger on his own. Granted this definitely wasnt exactly a peak Roddick, but it was a lot faster grass than the joke rye grass of Wimbledon also.

I respect you as a good poster but you do Realise Roddick came into the tournament having withdrawn from RG 2008 due to injury ? Of course you didn't.

That he lost to Janko at WB 2008 but beat Murray ,almost took out Federer in 2009 .Are you telling me Rafa 2011AO and 2012 had the same form ?

Also should I post 2010 Rafa losing to Baghfatis in Cincy to claim USO was the same level?

Should I say that 2015 clay Nadal is same as 2017?

Should I say that 2007 Nadal was a joke just because it was 11 years ago?

Should I disrespect the only ****ing player who actually took peak Federer to the limit in later stages of WB apart From Nadal and Djokovic? Not once but twice?

You should know better.

Djokovic would destroy him, wouldn't be shocked if somehow he won it in two sets. If you're picking Roddick here your probably an American or forgot that tennis consists of shots aside from just the serve.

Still not a destruction. What Dustin Brown did to Nadal at Halle 2014 was a destruction - 6-4,6-1.Losing 7-5,6-4 to Nadal in 2008 is far better than some journeyman beating Nadal easily in straight sets in 2014.

Lmao at how many times you're going to reference this match. At least you didn't refer to Andy as "Peak Roddick" this time

Peak Roddick destroying highest ever level on HC 2010 GODDAL. Highest HC level ever

Peak Bagdatis destroying GODDAL 2010 HC MONSTER

Peak Garcia Lopez destroying HC GREATEST Level ever

But I know better I know 2010 USO Nadal would murder each of them. Wish people could see more rationally about players they don't like.

Roddick wins easily. Djokovic is pretty weak in all TTW hypothetical encounters. He is good only in a real-life tennis match.
Pretty much this. Same could be said about Nadal.

Meanwhile Federer or anyone who played him in his era before the rise of Nadal and Nole are some sort of unbeatable God mode in these hypothetical match ups. They always win.

Basically claiming that Djokovic would beat Roddick, a rival of Federer who pushed him at Wimbledon 2009 would make God Federer look bad, so let's just go around claiming that Roddick would cream Djokovic because he's supposedly weak against big servers(on a related note, who even started this myth?)

That would be the most satisfying thing in the world. Roddick bashing balls and Djokovic making minced meat out of him. Elegance trumps brutality.

Querrey started it

If that was true then Fabrice Santoro would be GOAT.

In a poll I created few years ago on TTW Federer2015 destroyed Djokovic2015 in a Wimbledon2015 final.

Glorious overrating of Djokovic on here at the expense of Roddick. Djokovic only won Wimbledon because Fed GrassGOAT got old. If Djok had been the same age as Fed, he would have 0 Wimbledon titles, just like Roddick.

Federer's problem in claiming all round GOAThood (he is a current Wimbledon GOAT) is that he never held all 4 GS simultaneously. However, I am confident he can do it, which would bring him into GOAT discussion with few other players that done it so far.

As much as it pains me to say, but Federer wouldn't sit on 8 Wimbledons if he had peak Nole in front of him.

This is true. Novak very lucky to that Fraud let him vulture those titles otherwise it'd be like his situation at the FO.

yes, I agree >>> Federer would be at 9 wimbledons instead of 8 if he had to face peak Novak in 07/08 instead of peak Nadal.

and obviously it pains you because Djokovic would lose both.

No, 2015/2011 Novak grass > Nadal 06, 07 And 08. Peak Novak would more trouble.

Yeah no argument there. We all have seen what Nole can do to Federer at Wimbledon in 2014 and 2015.;)
In both of these instances Djokovic lost heavily on TTW polls. abmk is right that Federer (and anyone else) destroys Djokovic on TTW in any hypothetical encounter. What happens on tennis court is not relevant and should not be used as an argument in this discussion.

Yeah, I can only imagine the proportions of the Federer hype in this place especially after the Murray match. Probably the second coming of the mythical Peak Fed or something. Lol:D
Good that Djokovic in the final put that "divine creature" in his right place. :D

LMAO! Thanks for this. :D

I say why stop at 9 Wimbledons? Make it an even and round 10 Wimbledons for Federer in the hypothetical world. Djokovic ends up with 0 Wimbledons though in the TTW world. Poor Djokovic. :(

I’d go with the Djoker BUT let’s not forget that Andy would go for broke AND not play tight like Roger did AND that Djoker 2015 was almost eliminated by an inferior version of Roddick (Anderson).
