I don't see Roddick losing this. Roddick in 4. Gonzales is not the best mentally and he doesn't have many weapons that can take Roddick out.

I think this could be an amazing match but Gonzo will be tired, at least more tired than Andy. I'd say Roddick in 4. Probably won't be as good as it could. Roddick is really just a better player.

Gonzo was limping and could barely walk after he finished the 3rd round match. Unless Gonzo could somehow rejuvenate completely, Roddick will be taking out Gonzo in 3 or 4 sets.

I think its going to be close. It all depends on gonzo. Roddick will be his normal consistant self but if gonzo can push the pace I think he can win. But roddick in 5 is my prediction.

I'll say Gonzalez just to go against the flow.

Feña will teach Roddick how to hit a flat FH, and when rough comes to rough, he will show him how to get angry and smash racquets :)

I only caught first and last set of Gonzo/Korolev, but either Korolev has tremendously upped his game or Gonzo his playing hit or miss tennis right now. I f the latter is the case I don't see Andy having much trouble, however if he tries to grind it out from the back of the court he will be watching a lot of balls blow past him.

Usually what happens is Roddick plays high percentage tennis against him and eventually Gonzo starts to punch himself out. Its a great strategy against someone like Gonzo who will go for more and more the longer the match goes. Eventually he just starts making rediculous errors, ripping forehands that miss the baseline by 15 feet until he completely crumbles and it becomes humorous.

I'd really like Fena to win this one ...... but he's got the taping back on his right knee, maybe even both knees now ..... perhaps the Fena fans could get to Andy and make him blow his cool? :?

i'm also rooting for Gonzalez - really love his fearsome forehand and hope to see more of it :)

i think roddick in 4 sets.

gonzo blows hot and cold, but i love watching him hitting his wicked forehand when he is on his game, it is beasty!!!

but roddick is a bad match-up for gonzo since gonzo likes playing against guys who keep the ball in and give him time to set up the point, against a big server like roddick, gonzo feels like he is rushed, and this disrupts his rhythm, hence why roddick leads the H2H 8-3.

Have you watched Roddick play altely, he is totally doing this and on the defensive.

Night session starts at 7pm melbourne time and Roddick match is after the Henin match so Im guessing 9pm Roddick match start.

So that means 4am central OR 2am pacific.

am I right

Wow they are showing Roddick warming up with GONZALES on Rod Laver, why would he be warming up with his opponent if the match aint for 4 hours?

The Henin match is over ..... so? 15 or 20 mins? or does it take a half hour to clear the arena for the next match?

No they weren't warming up together, they were warming up next to each other.

I'll go with Roddick in straight sets.

I'm really impressed by the progression that Gonzalez made with his backhand the last few years.. I used to laugh about his backhand, but it's gotten a lot better. I still think it breaks down quite easy though, in tight situations.

I think roddick will win this in 5, maybe 4...

I actually never knew Gonzo had such a beautiful backhand :)

I like Gonzo very much,he has a great personality despite his often racquet smashes however I'll have to go with one of my favourite players Andy here...

Roddick's winner tally in the first three matches is pathetic. Single digits against his first two opponents is just sad

I was referring specifically to groundstrokes. He probably more than doubled his winners if you included aces and service winners

I wonder what Sampras' groundstroke winner tallies would look like. I'd imagine not a lot, since he finished a lot of the points with his serve and at the net. Stats like that can be decieving, Roddick's been coming to the net a lot more recently, thus the groundstroke winners number goes down.
