Thank you, Fee. Couldn't have said it better myself.Perhaps now some people on this forum will understand why some of us remained Andy Roddick fans for all these years, despite the inexplicable losses to low ranked players, the on-court temper tantrums, and the soft forehand. Some of us have always known about Andy's tennis loving fighting heart and we knew he had matches like this still left to play in his career.
Pretty good for a no talent player who is nothing but a serve.
Thank you Andy Roddick, thank you for the greatest final, thank you for not giving up after second set loss, thank you for the bravery you have shown, we will always remember your efforts, the fact you gave it all, thank you for the memories, we have so much respect for you, in our hearts you're the winner today, thank you for all, we love you. It will be your time one day...
Well said and well said. And the comments from others above, too.Perhaps now some people on this forum will understand why some of us remained Andy Roddick fans for all these years, despite the inexplicable losses to low ranked players, the on-court temper tantrums, and the soft forehand. I've always had a love hate thing going on with roddick. I admire him so much for his hard work and determination, and other times I just want to smack him with his on court behavior. Of course at times I find it funny as well, but that's besides the point. However, roddick has certainly matured and today he took risks imo and really fought hard. I think a little credit should go to stefanki as well.
Hope that Roddick has a great hard court season - I think he is playing the bet he has ever played. A-Rod and Stefanki are a great team.
It was pretty sad to see him so devastated after the loss but I hope he wakes up tomorrow and sees what potential he has over the coming months.
I know he didnt win but he played superb I have so much respect for him, he really went after the title, no one gave him a chance against Murray let alone Fed.
Conratulations Roddick!
Just getting Roddick to camp on the baseline, rather than 10 feet behind it, is a huge feat. And it's made a big, big difference in his game.
Just as I thought the guy has changed he goes and interrupts Federer during his speech in front of millions of people.
Classless pr*ck if you ask me.
He had a twinkle in his eye. It was clearly just a bit of ribbing towards Roger. I find it pretty amazing what some people take personal offense to. Roddick was a great sport in his on-court post-match interview; it is almost hard to conceive of just how much frustration and sadness must be lurking inside the man after coming so close so many times to achieving his dreams, this time closer than ever, and still being thwarted once more, but even still he didn't complain a second, spoke kindly to the audience, and brought some of his classic light-hearted humor to the fore (both in the "Sorry Pete, I tried to hold him off" line and "But you already had five!").I honestly think he was kidding and it just came across wrong since he looked so dead serious. Probably couldn't muster a smile on his face after such a loss...
Roddick deserved to win today. Theres no doubt about it. I have lost all admiration for Federer the way he was talking after the match, "ohh, im federer im always lucky and am a ***"
Roddick rules.
Ummmm ... with all due respect to Roddick and his fans (and respect is indeed due), he lost! Therefor, Roddick is not THE man; FEDERER IS THE MAN!
nah Roddick's the man he's always been the man, if you don't get it don't worry
