Roddick mocks Weak Era :Djokovic has "realistic shot"of matching Federer's Grand Slam rec

Andy Roddick believes Novak Djokovic has a "realistic shot" of matching Roger Federer's all-time record of 17 Grand Slam singles titles, but the Serb should consider all majors as a "must win."

Djokovic got closer to Federer's 17 majors after winning the Australian Open and French Open this season. With 12 Grand Slam singles titles in his record, Roddick, who won his lone Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2013, believes Djokovic could close in on the Swiss Maestro, but only if he could keep a winning mentality at every major.

Where, in that article, does Roddick mock any 'weak eras' ? o_O

Incidentally, Nadal may be interested to learn that Roddick won his lone Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2013. I'm pretty sure Andy and the rest of us recall it happening a full decade earlier in 2003!;)

OP implying Roddick is mocking a weak era by saying he thinks Djokovic can pass Federer's record when he himself came from the same "era" of tennis where Federer dominanted and only managed 1 slam in that time. Also he currently has a losing H2H against 4 of the top 5 current players in the game (Federer/Nadal/Murray/Wawrinka)

...And the only player he has a positive H2H is the very player he expects to pass the record? Curious implication.

He still has a shot. He'll need one more 3 slam year. Its possible.

I dont think he even needs a 3 slam year, although it would help.

2017: 2 slams
2018: 2 slams
2019: 2 slams

2017: 2 slams
2018: 2 slams
2019: 1 slam
2020: 1 slam

Amongst other scenarios are very easy to imagine happening.

Nole will be 30 next year and he will never break Federer's records and will never be as dominant because of the following circumstances:

1. Father time
2. Injury prone
3. Decline
4. Lack of motivation/love for tennis

Totally agree. Could not have put it better.
