how about that...
...tennis is a leg sport, not an arm sport...
LOL<,,I taught him well. That's what i have been saying all along...POWER on serve comes from the leg and chain of energy that goes from leg UP to arm and racket head.
He gave a very concrete example of using the knee bend like a spring. That fixes the idea much better for me. I am going to try it soon. I wonder what part of the body "feels" this spring the most? The calf muscles? If I know, I will try to focus on getting the feeling there.
its the Quads and and there is tremendous pressure on the knees. i don't think amateur can have a knee bend as deep as Roddicks. amateur can probably bend about 1/2 way...?
Yup, the prestigious David Cup.
Yeah. I posted a comment highlighting that mistake on the Yahoo website. It's honestly quite ridiculous how much the quality of that tennis blog had dropped.
LOL, funny guy.
Totally agree, that's why we hold the racket with our feet!
If I served without spring into it with my legs, it'd go about 95mph.
If i served without using my arms at all, it's go about 40 mph, but be very inconsistent.
