Roger Federer confirmed for Basel in October as he plans ATP Tour return having been out since Wimbledon

Roger Federer will play in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland later this year after signing up for the Swiss Indoors tournament. The 40-year-old has been out of action since making the quarter-finals of Wimbledon last summer and is currently recovering from knee surgery. It is not known if he will play more ATP Tour events before Basel.

The Laver Cup is Sept 23-25 in London. Didn't he also semi-commit to that? That might be a good transition without much pressure, and would certainly sell many tickets.

I think he is fully commited to the Laver Cup in London. He'd better turn up because the cost of the tickets is out of this world. People are going to see him and Rafa especially as doubles partners.

I checked to get some tickets and the cost is astronomical. Prices range from £185 to £2420, not including 20% local tax, the AXS ticketing fee and a facility fee. I don't live in London and for 2 people to get there and/or stay in a hotel, it would cost a packet. I've lost count of how many times I've seen Rafa live so I'll pass on this one and watch it on TV.

Yow!!! Thanks for the info. More pricey than I thought. But then it's two of the greats in their twilight years. I'm hoping they will be able to play together. I really enjoyed the LC a few years ago when they did. An exhibition, sure. But after all, tennis is entertainment.

He confirmed he would play Basel back in February. I think it's when he officially retires, we'll see soon enough.

Djokovic should play

This is where the ego maniac will announce his retirement world tour in 2023 and have every tournament be held in his honor. Most of his dogs will lap it up.
