Of course he does for now. 2017 solidified his GOAT status. If there were ever any doubts, 2017 should put them to rest.
 
Federer deserves the sobriquet GOAT until such a time that someone convincingly surpasses his achievements and I would add shot making and general aesthetics.
 
Well guys, it isn't just Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer turning back the clock in 2017. Phil Taylor has just won the 2017 World Matchplay (the second biggest darts tournament) this evening, a run which included a crushing 16-6 victory over the dominant world number 1 of the last few years, Michael van Gerwen, in the quarter finals. This is Taylor's 16th World Matchplay title, the first back in 1995.

Phil Taylor is the greatest of them all. This week, he played like it was 2010 and ruling the darts world.

A great win. It will be interesting to see if Michael Van Gerwen can achieve anything remotely close to Taylor's longevity. In terms of quality he's already been there for a while.

Sorry, you can't compare Taylor to Federer or Nadal. Unlike tennis which is a physically demanding sport(strength, speed, endurance), dart is a non-athletic game, it's easy on the body which Phil today can compete at the age of 56! In a real sport like tennis, players retire in their 30s. The NFL for example, average career length is about 6 years.

Phil is great, but he should be compare to competitors with similar games/sports that require little(if any)athleticism like archery, cue, racing, hunting, etc. You will find no sites on the internet where they include any of these sport in a debate for top 10 greatest athlete of all times. Federer(tennis) should be compare to hockey, soccer, basketball, swimming or NFL. Only these physically challenged type of sports are in a discussion.

Let's separate apples from oranges. Okay?

Doubt he will come close to the longevity, but it is always possible.

Fed probably is the GOAT and will likely at least maintain that over Djokovic and Nadal. This article is ridiculous though, Federer is the second greatest player ever? It acts like Fed would have won every French if it wasn't for Nadal, which is ridiculous. Also it stated that Soderling was the defending champion at Roland Garros too.....

Agreed. Clever lyrics / wordplay with sophisticated melodic development. Thick As a Brick was supposed to be a parody of the concept album genre but ended up being a masterpiece of song writing.

One of my all-time favorites as a vocalist. Primarily a baritone with some very creative/ expressive, sometimes whimsical, elements. Loved his phrasing & breath control Here is a 1-time listening reviews from a vocal coach (Beth Roars). Some great insight here on Ian's vocals. Beth is definitely a fan after hearing & reviewing this and some of Jethro Tull's other music
