Roger Federer: I've never felt better before Wimbledon

Why do you mix up things ? Novak's best is no match for Fed of 2004 . Current Fed has to fight tooth and nail to match Novak. It is as simple as that.
Fed needs to learn to be a little more gracious and keep his mouth shut. Give your opponent credit where it's due and move on.

When did Fed say anything about his 2004 level and Djokovic?
He implied in his interview that he would have won last year's final if he'd not been feeling the after effects of his poor form and injury from 2013. Very disappointing to see but hardly surprising coming from him.

You are just rushing to conclusion and interpreting the way you want.

All Fed is saying is he himself did not expect to do as well as he did last year given his bad 2013.

He is a sore loser in general but there is not too much here to argue.

I just read the article. He says "Things went faster than I expected them to.", which is basically saying he believes he reached the level at which he was able to compete for a slam quicker than he expected. You're pulling stuff out of thin air here and nobody's even questioned Djokovic's 2014 Wimby on this thread yet :D

After his defeat at Wimb 2014 :

"It's really only until the fourth set when I was down a break that I started to understand more how to return him, which was a surprise for me because I've played him that many times," Federer said.

"I'm very happy to see that with feeling normal I can produce a performance like I did the last two weeks," said Federer, troubled by a bad back in 2013. "That clearly makes me believe that this was just a steppingstone to many more great things in the future."

Why on earth would anyone question Djokovic's win? He played great and beat Fed fair and square.

He will retire if he does not get to the semis here

Actually he will retire if he's unable to play a point like this:

Of course he's gonna say this. His sponsors expect it, you want him to say that he expects to lose in the first round?

He didn't imply that. Why do you lie? Your paranoid fear of Djokovic losing is turning you into a hater.

Thankfully, Fed will not be retiring any time soon, or would you like to revise your statement a bit ? :D

..
I get the impression Federer is content as long as he is competitive. He might leave the game similar to how Agassi did.
