Fedr has won the western and southern open championships, at ohio for a record 7 times
2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015..
Not even lost a single final there, 7-0 record in finals.... His best HC masters...

Which year, the level of play has been the highest?? I have added a poll, do vote here and discuss..

Imo, the 2005 was the highest level, followed by 2012...
What do you people think??

2012 for me. 2015 was a bit more flashy, 2012 was a confident Fraud who had more a bit more substance.
Don't even remember 2005 Cincy at all. Can someone tell me how was it?

2015 was pretty good. I don't like using the word, but the way he made top 20 players Anderson and RBA look like utter mugs is something I remember strongly

Did you mean 2015? I don't see how 2005 is even close, given that he barely scrapped by Ginepri and Kiefer.

Fed won the 7th Cincy title in 2015,not 2017.

2007, 2009, 2012. I think 2012 takes it.

2007: physically would’ve been his highest level but he dropped a few sets and didn’t face anyone as good as 09, 12 Djokovic.

2009: very high level. Took out Hewitt, Murray, Djokovic in succession.

2012: similar to 2009 but simply routed everyone, including owning peak Djokovic with a bagel.

2015 was a high level but not as good as the above from the baseline. It was more servebotting, net approaches, sabr etc.

From this list definitely 2012. Such a shame he couldn’t take that form to the USO or else he’d have won it imo and secured 6th title and 6th YE#1.

My pick is 2009. That was as close to peak Federer as you could get after 2007. His win against Murray in particular was very impressive because Murray was the king of HC Masters at the time, it was very hard to put him away and Fed did it with relative ease.
Next in line 2012/2015 - very high level but tons of botting.
2014 played great against Murray and Raonic but got pushed to 3 in every other match.
2005/2007 he only played a great final.

2010 is hard to assess because he had tons of luck with the draw - a WO, a retirement, all the top players losing except Davydenko who was probably playing one of his last good tournaments. Heavily struggled in the final against Fish.

purely level wise, 05/07 could reach higher than the later versions but Fed back then was unfortunately (or fortunately) not quite focused on dominant Cincy displays. For a combination of the two I would go 09 or 12. Probably 12.

Think 2005 was technically the highest level, didn't really bring it out though besides when he had to send Roddick a message and send him into a tailspin. Fred had bigger fish to fry in those days.

Yeah back then Fed pretty much cruised through a lot of those masters matches until he either needed to raise his level, or he faced someone like Rafa.

I originally was going to vote for 2009. Federer straight-setted Hewitt, Murray, then Djokovic to take the title. He even dished out a bread stick to Djoker. But then I saw that he lost a set to Ferrer. Also, Fed's dominance ratio was 1.46 and he won a total of 55.2% of the points, which is huge, but not his best.

Fed's best statistically was 2015. In that tourney he had a dominance ratio of 1.88 and he won 56.9% of his points. Both of those are tops for him at Cinci.

Youngovic actually beat Peak Fed. Fed didn’t beat Peakovic. He beat Primovic

His gas was totally finished after that ciny 2012. He actually got overplayed, due to early success (it was like his 2006-07 schedule), that mistake triggered his back afterall, due to which he sucked throughout the indoors of 2012 (his 2nd best part of season) and the whole 2013....

Still he was somehow dropping serve to the ballbashovic... ???

Thats correct. Masters were not compulsory at that time.

2015 was actually dominant because of his agressive 90's tennis, to which no ATP player has answer (except for djokovic on slow courts)
But Forehand was not that impressive as former years due to aging affected footwork, larger frame

For sure 2014

He had a few tight matches but he still played well. Not as dominant as 2009/2012 and 2015 for instance.

Also 2009 Cincyfed suffered from rather low first serve % in semis and finals, something in the 30's  That's not nearly good enough to be best level.

no.

In Cincy 2009, first serve% for Fed was 56.5% in the semi and 55% in the final
