Hello folks. My wife and I are planning a trip to watch the men play in Montreal at the Rogers cup this year. We would potentially be going to the tournament on Thursday. But, we're going to spend several days there, so we'll want to do some other stuff too (not sure what yet). We're looking for a clean place to stay that won't break the bank. If anyone has any suggestions for a place and / or other attractions nearby (shops, restaurants, etc.) - I would be thrilled to hear from you. Thanks!

There is a subway stop about a 10 minute walk from the tennis grounds. So I always just stay downtown then take the subway to the tennis. Driving and parking appears to be a hassle. I stay at the Hilton Bonaventure.

There is nothing interesting to see close to the tennis stadium. I doubt there are any decent hotels in that are either.

All the good hotels, restaurants, things to see, are in the downtown core, or old Montreal. Look for a hotel in these areas. As above poster mentioned, hop on the subway (Métro) to get to the stadium.

Use one of the hotel booking sites and save a few bucks. The Canadian dollar is at about .80 US, so you'll save some more.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Has anyone stayed at the Carrefour Sherbrooke? Guess I should have specified - would like to keep the hotel under $100 / night if at all possible.
