He didn't look tired to me in the first set, but now he is having problems to position himself to hit the ball.

Everyone keeps talking about [Simon himself too] how tired he is. He shouldn't be that tired, should he? Maybe he needs better conditioning. He seems very delicate.

He's not used to playing this many matches. If you keep winning, you keep playing more - I'm not sure whether he's ever won a tournament and then played another one the very next week. (He did, this year he won Casablanca, but then lost in the 1st round the very next week to Stepanek.) (Yep, previously, the two times he played a tournament the week after he won one, he lost in the first round.) (And of his matches last week, all but one were in three sets.)

And here, he's not only won a tournament, but went deep into the next one, playing at a higher level of tennis than he's ever played before.

Sure, it would be nice if he could handle it, but many players can't, especially if it's not a common situation for them. He's doing the best he can - it's not like he's folded or given up.

I understand all of that, but he's young and bursting out. Where's the adrenaline? These are not 5 set matches.

The adrenaline is helping him get through the matches. He's winning them, after all. They're not 5-setters, but they're tough three-setters, and there's a LOT of them in a row.

The interviews are after the matches, when the adrenaline rush is done but the fatigue is still there.

And, honestly, for all the talk here of being tired, he doesn't look tired when playing. Kiefer's playing extremely well and currently leading in the tiebreak, but it's hard to blame Simon's alleged fatigue, Simon is still doing pretty well.

Nadal will blow away Keifer. Keifer's game just does not match up well with Nadal. If nadal wins today that is, this will be much more difficult match

Now we will have a Boring Finals tomorrow against Nadal. Nadal in straight sets in the Finals, 6-3 6-2

I'm guessing you think the one with Roddick would be far more interesting.

Kiefer played some great matches, congrats to him, love aggressive players like that with a lot of variety. Very nice match point against Simon:)

Let's see how Murray does against Nadal. He's already made a lot of people eat their words, if he pulls it off again it will be hilarious and I'll be happy for him, even though I don't like either his game or the way he comes across.

Let's get it started.......................--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rafael Nadal won the Toronto Masters Series, 12th Masters Series title of his career and 4th on hardcourts (along with 3 finals).
It´s also his 30th ATP singles title (over half of these titles are Slams or Masters Series).
He also surpassed his own match winning streak in Toronto. It´s 29 matches now on 3 different surfaces including 2 Slams and 2 Masters Series (3 wins over both the world no.1 and no.3).

I thought a fresher Djokovic after his early loss at Wimbledon was the favorite to win here on his favorite surface but it seems he hasn´t recovered from all the effort he put in the first half of the season.

His huge upset loss to Safin at Wimbledon could have been confidence sapping too.

How many Masters does Fed have? They're both approaching Agassi quite closely now.

14. But the importance of the masters is a little higher now than in the past really. I don't think you can compare directly.

COngratulations to Rafael Nadal for his victory. well done!

gorecki: the one that doesnt like him but has brains unlike his fans!
