Roger's N90

Fabfed

Semi-Pro
This N90 was used by Roger at several tournaments, the last time on grass, probably Halle in 2005 or 2006. It was strung by Frank Messerer. I will try to do some measurements and compare it with my Roger K90s and BLX90s if I have time next weekend. Enjoy the pics :)

And like usual, it won't be played with?

Actually quite nice though.

If I'd be rich, I'd pay you LOTS of money for you to hit and compare...

yep looks like his ncode isnt really the stock ncode.. theres 10 grommets on the stock ncode (if you count on the white strips) and only 9 on his ncode.. :S

can you compare the headsize to see whether it is a 90 square inch or some ppl might suggest a 85?

Great addition to your collection - thanks for sharing the pictures! This paintjob is one of my all-time favorites.

Wow...great acquisition. Go Fabfed! Thanks for sharing with us. Waiting for your acquisition of the PSBLX90 :D

Wow! I love how its signed twice.

Awesome grab Fabfed! Thanks so much for pictures, it's posts like these that make these boards worth reading!

Tennis Hall of Fame

Hello Fabfed

Great pictures! The Tennis Hall of Fame will be calling you to supply racquets, clothes, shoes, etc. for the Fed exhibit!

As always, thanks for sharing.

Awesome acquisition, thanks for sharing the photos!!
I love the fact that it was probably used for the last time in Halle haha :D

Mr. Roger Federer's "N90" definitely looks smaller than a retail N90. So I guess he was still using the PS85 and didnt switch to a 90 until the K90?
No, it does not.

Overlay those frames in photoshop and you'll see that Federer's frame is clearly larger in that pic. The perspective and lens used on these pics makes a head-size call almost impossible. If anything they look closer to being the same size to me.

More to the point, it's clearly not a PS85 with any form of paint job. Anyone who owns a PS85 could point out some differences in 5 seconds - the sculpting where the throats joins to the head for example, 19 cross strings instead of 18 etc.

Eh, no photoshop for me. If someone says no then no.

I have the exact same paintjob/pro stock model. It's the ncode 90 with the extended throat and 4 holes through the pws. I acquired it around 2007 (believe the fall around sept or oct). It actually came from the wilson pro room. I can say that it plays very similar to the k90. Minus this one feels a lot more flexible, but like that of a Jack Krammer or very early Knissel. It has a wooden wobble to it that I've felt in no other racquet. Not even the k90, but the k90 is probably the closest feeling racquet to this stick. I'll see if I can post pics a little later, but mine looks the same as the one pictured. I believe sampras used this stick too when he played the exhibition matches in asia when fed was still in his prime. I can also say that this stick is so absolutely soft. It is like melted butter, but with tons of feel.

Thank's for that info, can you post the specs of your racket?

Cheers

Dude, how did you get your hands on the version of the N90 with the shorter paddle and 4 cross strings instead of 5? I actually called Wilson a couple of weeks ago to see if they would paint one of my K90's like the NCode but they said they don't typically do that kind of stuff.

You know, i was hoping for the exact same thing...but as you said it's almost impossible wilson will do this...:(

I would absolutely love to have one painted like an N90, to this day I think that racquet had by far the best paintjob of all the Pro Staff 90's.

I wonder if Mr. Ron Yu has a hookup at Wilson that could do this for me!! :)

It's very very difficult...but it's worth a try in my opinion...;)
Let us know if you manage to obtain it!

So when you see a fake K90 or Blx with 4 holes in the pws, that is because they are paint jobs of a fake N90

A fake fake

Now I want a fake 2012 Pdr+ for my collection, want to see how they copy the cortex, the tube and if they bother changing the woofer colours.

I'll post some pics maybe tomorrow or sunday. I've been busy moving out of my apt, looking for places and what not. But the specs that are painted on the racquet I think are different than the actual racquet specs. For instance the racquet does say that it is 12 pts headlight. Also, I noticed that there's a bulge towards the bottom of it like the kps88 that the k90 or ps90 or even the ps85 all don't have. I apologize, i'll get my iphone and post the pics so people can see. I've never seen a ncode custom pro stock besides the one that the author of the thread started, so it will be nice to share this one as I think it's a very unique racquet. BTW, if anyone is in the new york or brooklyn area and wants to hit with it, I can take it out if you wanna meet up. I'll update this in a day or two.

Just tried posting pics of the pro stock paint job, and I'm getting broken links, anyone know how I can remedy this? Damn. Why doesn't TT just have an upload cloud site like most websites. Why do we need to link them from a domain server?

You could always just post the link to your preferred domain server and then we can post the pics for you in here...

Definitely the real deal

Thanks for the pics. Can we get a close up of the bulge down the bottom of the racket?

Where/how did you acquire this?
