IMO, It seems like there's no flywire used, right? and Fed's vapor looks like using original leather because fed's one is not require any durability...
ya, comfort is most important, because he can just get a free pair for each match
but for everyone else we have to keep the same pair for ages
Different clay outsole vs "stock" clay outsole
No TPU shank
You guys really pay attention to detail. I don't really see any difference aside from the RF logo lol. Can someone elaborate for the rest of us?
i dont see any difference
I could still see the flywire. They don't seem to be painted on leather.
Leather? huh? vapors were never leather! Nike hasnt made a leather tennis shoe for ages. those are the regular Vapors; you can see the flywire...
The leather part is at the front of the shoe, and the toe bumper is also leather/synth leather instead of the regular hard rubber.
The rest of the shoe looks like it's the black version painted in white.
if you compare it to this picture, the ones that federer wears has small holes on the front and sides.
while the retail ones dont
so in my opinion, its not flywire.
I think it is leather. I have the 2007 vapors (white and gold) and those are made of leather too. Although if you see the black version is very similar to the one Fed is using and it says it is flywire on the TW description, yet on the actual shoe doesnt.
Also note that Fed version has breathing holes on both sides of the shoe while the black version only have them on one side.
Here you go:
hmmm now im not so sure of what i said before. I actually looks like there are holes on the front of the blue vapor, and holes on the innner side of the shoe.
Also, its harder to tell if there is actually flywire on the black vapor because its not semi-transparent like the white flywire. I am pretty sure the black vapors have flywire or else nike wouldnt have advertised it having flywire. I have a pair of black Kobe Ivs so I know what black flywire looks like.
dude it looks the same
I believe this part you said about the front of the shoe/toe bumper guard is made of leather, instead of the stock version that comes in rubber. Notice there are stitchings to attach this portion of the shoe to the flywire part.
About the venting holes, my vapor VI blue has the same vent holes on the top of the toe and on the inside of the foot.
Good observation about the holes on both sides of the shoe. I have the black Vapor 6 and indeed there's only holes on one side of the shoe, which I really hoped for holes on both sides, it just makes more sense in terms of getting rid of the heat.
However, it looks like flywire to me. From the first picture you can clearly see the flywires protruding from the shoe, making small shadows. If it were painted there would be no protrusions.
I forgot to add that the shoes Rogers were wearing were CLAY vapor 6s, which came out later, while most pictures people posted were hardcourt vapor 6s. So, don't be so quick to judge.
Clay Vapor VI looks the same as the early release from Nike. Well these are Fed shoes, so don't expect them to be the same as the retail ones.
