Is it a rule to wait until the end of the game or why didn`t they stop Federer-Montanes match a bit earlier. On the other courts the matches got suspended a bit earlier

For those who say Federer would prefer rainy conditions on clay, Montañes had 2 set points against him.
Federer´s serve saved him again, the importance of serve on clay is underrated.

Federer get out of jail free card with two aces. Mark of a great champ he is, rain dod not bother him enough, he overcame it. 5-5 Rain Delay.

You're saying Fed is a champion? I always thought so as well(atleast since 2003)until the great internet tennis minds here(keyboard tennis experts)illuminated me and made me realize that he's actually mentally weak and a choker,he aslo won all of his slams because of luck and easy draws,it had nothing to do with his playing ability.(I'm being sarcastic because people here really tick me off sometimes with their lack of tennis knowledge and reason).

It's more of the majority of his slam opponents have been hasbeens that Federer completely owns, like Baghdatis, Roddick, Gonzalez, and Hewitt. Not exactly the type of competition that can stand up to Federer.

I disagree but I'm not gonna argue about that again and hijack this thread, you can have your opinion while I have mine(I watched enough tennis over the last 15 years to form my own opinion).

From 0-40 down to break for the set, a 6-0 set at that...that's demoralizing.

And Montanes takes the first set. Smart money still on Roger to win it, but he'll have to do it in 4.

What has changed ???

My TV transmission has broken, live score shows 3-0.

Is Montanes cracking, or Roger picking up/ attacking or what ??

Poor Devilder. He was about to get a break (nevermind a game) the only way he could. Had 0-40 due mostly to lucky net cords. But Rafa got it back to deuce, let Devilder think he had another chance with the Ad, but then won 3 straight points to hold serve for 3-0. Now that's just mean.

Wawrinka wins in straights, 7-6, 7-6, 6-1 over Cilic. That was a really tought draw for his first two rounds (PK and then Cilic/Haase), but he came through in straights both times.

Yeah,Wawrinka is really playing the best tennis of his life so far. He'll only get better from here IMO.

Safin breaks Davydenko. I thought this wouldn´t be easy for Davydenko and it looks like that.
Nice match by Andujar but lost to Gonzalez in 4 sets.
Nieminen will play Nadal in 3rd round.

I think that he has never lost with him.. Nadal played Nieminen at Wimby (Quarter finals) and this year at AO (Quarter finals too) and beaten him easily, no chances for him to beat Nadal on clay..

How does Nadal match up with Nieminen?

Well they've played 4 matches (2 on clay, 1 on hard, 1 on grass), and Rafa has won all of them. However, with the exception of their first clay match in 2005, it hasn't always been easy for Rafa (even though he won both their GS matches in straights, most of the sets were tight). Rafa had to fight like hell to win their 2006 match in Barcelona after dropping the first set to Nieminen. But Jarko came into RG 2-5 on clay this year, so I don't know what kind of form he's in.

Thanks for the stats. :)
