The draw is out and its time to vote people :) Who will triumph on the clay of Paris? Will Nadal (the king of clay) win his fifth title in a row or Federer (the swiss maestro) achieve his career Grand Slam? OR will Djokovic spoil the party by snatching the title?

Undoubtedly Nadal is the overwhelming favourite having won the tournament for 4 consecutive years and winning 2 of the 3 clay Masters events this year. Federer has won the last Masters event in Madrid coming into Roland Garros and he is high on confidence. Djokovic has given Rafa tough matches on clay this season and he is arguably the 2nd best clay courter this season despite not winning any Masters event. Each time he has lost to Nadal either in the final or Semi final.

I am going for Federer against all the odds.

Here is the draw below:

FEDERER of course. LOL in my dreams. I really want Fed to win, but realistically speaking, Nadal. I wouldn't be surprised if Nadal didn't drop a set to be honest, although it is probably just as likely that he drops one or two. Either way, I just don't see him losing.

For my bracket I made a safe pick - Nadal. But here I would really like to see if Djokovic is a serious threat on clay. He should have beaten Nadal in Madrid and here he needs to get by Federer to get to Nadal. Should be interesting.

im betting my money on mr nadal! but i want djokovic to get to the final and see how he plays against rafa, i dont think he will win, but still...its better than rafa vs roger (we all remember last yr *cough cough*).

Well, there's only one true favourite: Nadal.

And there is only one guy that can push him: Federer.

The rest does not matter, they're all the same, chanceless.

So I'm voting for Federer, though his chances are around 5%.

Yes, because Djokovic beat Nadal so many times on clay

And also, because Nole can keep it up for 4 (lets not even go to 5) sets. What's that, a 6 and a half hour match with Nadal? Yeah, Nole is definitely fit enough for that. Not.

Yes, and that's because Nole really has beaten Fed many times in a GS

edit: yes, once, but that doesn't count since Fed was tired after the Tipsy match which ended 10-8 in the 5th and lasted 5? hours. So Nole didn't win against Fed in a GS.

The Tipsarivec match was the **REAL final**.

Sure. It will not count on this GS too if it makes you happy.

Unlike you, I don't find joy in diminishing other players' merits, nor do I try to find excuses for my favourite player's losses. Search for my posts on the Nadal vs Djokovic thread if you want to.

What I do enjoy on the other hand, is seeing you boil, especially when Fed will destroy "the second best claycourter for 2 years now".

I've trolled enough now, I pass this role back to you GJ. Start finding excuses... NOW!

LOL. That is exactly what you are doing here, starting from your first delusional post. Keep dreaming.

lol the angst and hate start immediately eh xD

Rafa is the favourite obviously, Nole and Roger can both push him if they get it right, a couple of other guys floating around could cause trouble, but you can't really see Rafa stopping short of the final or the other 2 before the semis.

Yes. Sad to see Fed fans so nervous and defensive.

Agreed completely. Only fanboys do that.

Sorry but I can't possibly refrain myself. :D :D :D :D

btw: I was being sarcastic earlier, didn't expect you to get it though. Drakulie did, but I guess the IQ difference between him and you is bigger than the difference in altitude between Madrid and the sea level, expressed in metres.

please don't quote me and then say that, there's multiple sides to an argument and most fan-groups tend to be equally culpable :/

on a more tennis related point, has anyone heard anything further about Monfils' chances of actually playing? Last I heard it was 50/50 with a late decision planned, but if he's thinking not playing will mean he'll have surgery then surely he has to be in poor physical condition now regardless...

Your IQ is obviously not big enough to detect sarcasm as well. What a fool.

Stop trolling and polluting the thread.

He lost because he was still exhausted from Madrid. Imagine what it is going to be like when he has to play 3-setters.

He was tired from the match the day before. In Paris, there is a day of rest between matches and tough matches like that won't affect Nadal.

On another note.,,,,What is up with Roger Federer on the poster on OP's thread ????/ I thought Nadal would have been there...?

The French Open prefers to see Fed in their pictures. Pathetic I know.

The fact that he speaks French, and is Swiss, probably has a lot to do with it..

Although Rafa is very popular. The French can probably relate to Roger better..

Don't know why you haters have to troll the boards in pairs and hate on the guy?

Childish really..
Nadal won 4 straight slams in RG. By default he should be the picture. Pathetic to French culture that Federer is there.

Ha ha ha, you think the French are pathetic now..

Being a 26y.o man like yourself shouldn't have boy crushes on tennis players..

Now thats pathetic...
I'm still a straight male. You don't have to worry about that. I don't think it is that abnormal for a straight male to be a fanatic of a male tennis player.

I think it's abnormal. It should be reserved for little girls. Grown ups should be fans, but not fanatics. Do you have a girlfriend / wife?

No but I don't like attachments. I like to live the life I want. I know I'm missing some fun nights walking in the sand with my love but that's just my personality type.

I agree with these odds.

So you are saying Nadal is almost 20 times more likely to win than Djokovic and 90 times more likely to win than Federer? That in no way shape or form resembles reality. He's the favorite, but stuff happens. Injuries, bad days, opponents playing the best tennis of their life, etc.

Sure stuff happens. Thomas Johansson was probably 0.1% likely to win the 2002 Australian Open (if that) but stuff happens and he won. It doesnt mean it wasnt incredibly low chance. Someone other than Rafa winning the French is very low chances, and Djokovic is the best of the remaining very low chances amongst the rest of the field. Just the way it is. How do argue with Nadal's dominance on clay for years now. At the French Open on the best 3 of 5 sets, the conditions, how much the event means to him, it just becomes alot harder still.
