Just got back from RG, watched the Sharapova and Chardy matches on Court 1... the court was slow as usual....on TV it looks way faster...and on the metro going back home i was sitting in the same carriage where Andy Murray's coach, Miles Maclagan was. :)

All in all, i had a very enjoyable day. :D

Do you live in Paris or just went there for RG?

I went there last year for week 2, didn't have any tickets though and I couldn't get any (besides black market) so I just dropped it. Hoped I could go this year but, oh well, can't :(

I own a small appartement in Paris, im mostly based in England.

Yeah, its kind of confusing trying to find the ticket office, prices for tickets are cheaper after 5 PM. Im not sure why this is tho. Waited like 2 hours to get in. :(

Obviously he's still mad about Federer getting creamed by Djokovic at Miami and Rome. He had no excuses to use then!

Max - I had you down as a young, wild kinda guy - turns out you've a portfolio of properties! ;)

You mean the matches that Federer made 50+ UEs and still had chances to win?

I would hardly call barely escaping in 3 sets "creaming" someone.

I would however, call a 6-3, 6-2 in under an hour and a half a total demolition job. 4 breaks to boot too.

sounds awesome max, how was Chardy playing? I was following on the livescores but had no stream to gauge how he's doing. I think he's got a decent shot at going a couple of rounds here.

nuu fabio, i thought you were going to do it D:

Thanks, Chardy's serve is immense. I mean, i thought it was decent, but today it really did surprise me.

His forehand is rock solid, kept pounding them to Alves. Which really lead to his defeat.

I've been trying to use the viagogo site but to no avail. I bought tickets last night for today (Tuesday May 26) but the seller hasn't "confirmed" my purchase yet so I haven't gotten my e-tickets yet. At least they haven't charged my credit card yet, but who knows if I'll be able to go...

Still looking for tickets here ;(

Lopez won after being 2 sets down. Tipsarevic-Lopez is going to be an interesting 2nd round match.

The way Lopez is playing it should be an easy win for Tipsarevic. I put some money on Tipsarevic at 1.61 and on Youzhny beating Hanescu at 1.50.

Not only they don`t have roof here but also no lights. So if it rains they don`t play and if it`s dark the same.So one or two bad days and the schedule will be filled;two matches in back to back days or worse two matches in a day

Whats with the no lights? I can see no roof; thats costly, but lights? Really poor. Those Frenchies think they are so much better than anyone, including God.

It it's any consolation to you guys, the forecast for the next week or so is for glorious sunshine.

haha oh man, Schuettler broken again, why did I ever pick him to take a set today =p

I was scratching my head at that as well. I forgot about his recent spectacular loss to Soderling. (That's excusable since I didn't watch it and just read about it.) Maybe he'll win in five? Or win a game?

xD he better not win in five, I've got Gicquel down to win, just not in straights!

Schuettler is trying desperately to get a game on the board, but every time he has a game point Gicquel gets it back to deuce.

==

oh dear, Gicquel having saved multiple game points manages to break again himself

Schuettler heading for a double bagel

and there it is

Gicquel 6-0 6-0

what'll happen in the third O_O

Darn you Gicquel I had high hopes on witnessing a triple bagel - guess I can stop following this match now (until Shuettler MP in 5th at 13-12).

I see Monfils is out on court vs Reynolds, I'll be interested to see how that one plays out given Gaels injury problems

Haha, would you believe it, Schuettler just broke back!

^ TC now seem to be changing to Djokovic/Lapentti D:

Monfils took the first set 6-2 though =3

also the BBC playing la femme d'argent between and before each match lends their coverage a really odd laid-back feel xD

I'm feeling happier about Monfils now, he seems to be moving fine and hasn't seemed to limp since the first set. He also seems to be enjoying things out there.

Just broke with some great tennis and will serve for the set =D

allez!
