Yes!!! Ferrero breaks back to tie the set at 3-3. 5th set Ferrero serving. This is a real dog fight and hope Ferrero comes through.

Ferrero wins in 5 sets. Good effort by Ljubicic but he looked tired in the end. One last effort from him in the last game but it wasn't enough. Congrats to Ferrero for moving into 2nd round.

Mayer breaks @ 6-5 to take the second set!

I like his game, he has strong groundies, solid movement and a great serve, with a bit more refinement he could become a regular threat, he's only just turned 22 too so I guess there's time for him

ooh awesome, I just noticed the magician is making a comeback. He dropped the first 2 sets but is up 5-1 in the third

no, thanks a lot, im at work right now and they'd probably have all those sites locked down. Even if i would be able to access that I can't watch it here...
Thanks again though :)

OK, no problem. I saw you are argentinian, that's why I wanted to give you the link but as you are working, you better not anger your boss by watching too much tennis. I don't want to be involved in getting you fired. hehe :)

Where are you all watching the santoro match D:

Blake/Mayer is on my tv but I quite fancy checking in on the magician since Mayer just broke Blake at the start of the third and looks set to polish him off in 3 now.

Wow, I'm really impressed with this Mayer guy. I have never seen him play before and he looks like an excellent player. Too bad for Blake he had to face him in the 1st round. Argentina keeps producing these claycourters out of nowhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mayer breaks in the 3rd set, 2-0. and leading by 2-0.

I don't get why Blake sucks so much on clay. He has great groundies and is a fast mover, in theory he should do better, perhaps R16, but he is usually out much, much earlier.

James Blake's attitude says a lot about his talent........Cause I sure as hell don't know how he's survived this long being down on himself constantly.

Its embarrassing watching him constantly whine.......

Thank God espn went to the williams double match.

ah silly me, just realised atdhe has a link to the slam haha, time to catch some Santoro.

Mayer should have just got a double break on Blake to serve for the match but he netted a silly forehand after doing the hardwork

==

great tennis again gives him another break point

==

Blake saves it with a one two combo

...and blake hangs on to stay within one break

==

3 MP for Mayer (on blakes serve)

Blake saves one
Blake saves the second
Blake saves the third with a great backhand pass under masses of pressure

Mayer cracks a monster return winner for a 4th MP
Mayer does it!

7-6 7-5 6-2

great stuff from him, Impressive tennis and it'll be interesting to see what he can do from here

They suspended play while Rochus was leading Santoro by 5-3 in the fourth set.So tomorrow the players might come on court for one more game

I missed Mayer today, but I remember being impressed w/him at Acapulco earlier in the year. I seem to remember he had a bit of an injury at the time, still managed to give monfils two tuff sets before losing in the QF. Hope I can catch his next match (tommy haas in the 2nd round).

i'm sorry to see blake gone, especially since he did so well in germany a couple weeks ago.

Looking at the scores he actually took a set off Monfils, had to retire 4-1 down in the third.

I'd definitely be trying to catch a bit of his match with Haas, should be entertaining and if Mayer can keep his level up it could be tight!

Blake hits really hard and flat and goes for winners which is all good on fast surfaces but it doesn't work on the slow clay of Roland Garros. He should add more topspin to it and be more patient constructing the points rather than going for winners. He doesn't have a drop shot on him as well.

lol Tsonga

To celebrate his first match win at the French Open, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga came to his press conference wearing a tie. "This is my first victory here. I celebrate this victory like this," he said, adding, "I told myself that in other sports when you come to a press conference, there is a dress code. For tennis, it's good also to show we have a certain ethic. I believe it's important. We have beautiful tournaments, and we should show respect."

Tsonga said that if he won the tournament, "No problem, I'll wear whatever you want -- but not a G-string."

Blake is now #16 and on his way down out of top 20. He should retire. Thats what we all say when someone has a problem match, right?

Lol, Jo's hilarious.

I just realised Gulbis and Almagro are playing already in a very very tight match out on court 17.

Gulbis took the first 7-6
Almagro took the second 7-6

Just about to start the third
