Was more impressed with Zverev than Carlos today but I just cannot trust Zverev's mental until I see him get over the line. If I was betting on form I'd say Zverev in 4 but I just trust Alcaraz so much more so Carlos in 5.

Zverev played and executed the perfect game plan to beat Alcaraz at 2022 RG and again at the AO this year. He served brilliantly, attacked off both wings in those matches and left the Spaniard searching for answers. He choked in his first Slam final at US Open 2020, but has learnt a lot from that experience.

BUT - neither of those wins over Alcaraz were in finals. Alcaraz is 7-1 in big finals, 2-0 in Slam finals. He won the only final they contested thus far. He's got a phenomenal (10-1) record when matches go the distance. It's going to be tough.
Alcaraz as slight favourite for me, but like the semis - it'll be tight. If it goes the distance, it's hard to look past Carlitos.

Alcaraz seems much desired to win an RG, if Im not mistaken this is the 3rd straight RG hes been the favorite in.
Zverev has made his 4th straight RG SF, capped it with a Final this time, and was a Medvedev shanked return from having made both slam Finals this year.

They have a funny H2H.

5-4 Zverev, leads 2-1 in slams, but the 4 Alcaraz wins are 4 absolute beatdowns, with Zverev never winning more than 3 games in a set. In RG they met here in 2022, Zverev won in a 4th set tiebreak; and he seems to have the edge in slams.

Alcaraz to win his 3rd or Zverev his maiden slam. Id love for both to happen, but ones gotta give.

Carlos is fresh, the 5-setter is not a worry and the first 3 sets were pretty quick. Zverev has been through a far more grueling tournament and played the evening match.

Yeah if you really look objectively at the opponents they beat and how they beat them, Alcaraz has pretty much indisputably been better across this fortnight. But Z can sometimes zone against Alcaraz and leads the slam head-to-head 2-1. Scary stuff but I think Carlos will come out on top.
