I'm going with Alcaraz in 5. He's the favourite but Zed has a real chance to win his first slam here. On the other hand, Zverev has played a lot of tennis this fortnight; if he shows up low on energy, Carlos will win easily. Let's see! I think another 5-setter is definitely possible.

Carlos has sent his last two opponents, stefanos and sinner, back early for extra time working on their relationships. Zverev needs that more than others. More than time celebrating an rg win. Will Carlos be able to help?

First RG final for both. Z has been the form player of the clay season while Carlitos struggled for most of the clay swing before showing up at this RG. H2H 5-4 for Zverev, who has beaten the Spaniard in the last meeting at the slams (AO '24 QF). Who will win?
Gotta go with Alcaraz. 2 GS to 0GS a big difference. he has played 2 GS finals previously and won 2GS(100% conversion rate which is excellent). Zverev has played 1 GS final and won 0 GS(0% conversion rate- poor). A big difference in

A) the GS count
B) the conversion(from 100% to 0% for Zverev)
C) Talent- Surface spread- He is evenly talented across all surfaces. Zverev hasnt succeeded in Grass.

Albeit on a small sample size, but Alcaraz is 21, Zverev is a journeyman now at 27. Factoring this all in, Alcaraz is more talented by far and should win on Sunday- 4 sets imho.

Things aren't looking good for Zverev. He beat Carlos the last time they met in BO5, and no player has ever beaten Carlos two times in a row at the slams.

Looool you really have messed It up, Carlos was born to win on Sunday man, zverev has been Lucky the whole Clay season, tell me Who has he faced? Who is he tested against? A much more unmature Carlos almost went to 5 sets against the best form zverev ever, now zed has no chance, Carlos Will win on Sunday in 3 or 4 sets
Inshallah may you be right

Carlos in 3 sets for his 3 major.

Yeah if you really look objectively at the opponents they beat and how they beat them, Alcaraz has pretty much indisputably been better across this fortnight. But Z can sometimes zone against Alcaraz and leads the slam head-to-head 2-1. Scary stuff but I think Carlos will come out on top.
Yeah I for one am not sleeping peacefully knowing there's Z waiting.

I think it will be (and am hoping for) a win for Carl, mainly because it’s a slam final, and I don’t expect Abuserev to be able to cope with the mental component of that. If it were a SF I’d say it’s genuinely up for grabs

Alcaraz needs to play the same as in 4-5 sets against Sinner and then everything will end pretty quickly, as in his 4 wins against Zverev.

Should Zverev win, that will make 4 different men holding the 4 GS titles at the same time. I did a quick eyeballing of past results- had to go back to 2003 to see when it last happened. Sound about right?

Zverev was very lucky in this RG. He was on the verge of losing against Griekspoor and Rune, instead of his kryptonite Medvedev he played against De Minaur, Djokovic withdrew, Ruud was sick.

Slams were pretty concentrated among 3 players from 2004 until very recently, so sounds right.
