Ugh.

Zverev got screwed over though the awful start to the fourth set when he should have had all momentum in the world preceded that. More work to do, kid.

Good stuff from Carlos. Resilient last couple of rounds. He is back on track I suppose.

Zedrot is never winning a slam. Had all the momentum Alcaraz was gone mentally and physically and the pusher was too scared to win

It took the Earth's Mightiest Warrior to delay this last year, but it was always coming.

The new reign has started.

Well, Z didn’t shake the umpire’s hand after all

He got screwed of a break. The serve was out, and should have been a break. It's a big moment to get screwed on.

But anyway, all in all the more tenacious and braver player won. Alcaraz deserves it.

Seems to work out, eh? And yeah, he will improve for sure. Again, dude is just 21 years old. He is in an elite group and hasn't even come close to his peak yet. Like I have said, the only things stopping him will be injury or scandal.
Not worried about scandal he is a great guy but i worry about his taking liberties. Today should have been straight sets had he not clowned around after 1st set

Congrats to Carlitos. On his path to become an ATG, he is not that far now, crazy feat at such a young age.
I feel bad for Zverev to be honest, but he just doesn't have what it takes mentally to win a slam, this is where you see the difference between a "mere" top player like him and a great one like Carlos. Zverev
serves like Sara Errani when things get for real. The new Coria.

Now that it's all over I can look back on today as the best case scenario. Only thing better would've been Zverev somehow blowing match points.

Another Zverev collapse is more satisfying than if Alcaraz had stomped in 3 like I wanted.

Well... to be fair, Nadal would have won a couple of Wimbledons by age 21 if not for peak Federer in those finals...

Carlos wouldn't have beat 06 or 07 Fed... if you give 23 Djok to 07 Nadal, 07 Nadal wins in 4 sets.

Timing matters, competition matters.
Yes, but no one decides when to be born and what Carlos Alcaraz achieved is quite brilliant.

Not convinced Carlos wins W again tbh

Yeah bit weird. I would have been completely fine with a Zverev win today, but not to be - unfortunate outcome for him after all the good work over the last 2 weeks. I don't know when the next chance will come round

I don't know man but thing is he has been losing close matches and has been too close yet too far too many times. I feel disappointed, hard to describe what i feel now. He should have won AO but he choked hard against Med after going 2-0 up. He will have his chances but can he take it? That's what I am worried about.

I doubt 2022 Carlos beats 2005 / 2006 RF at the US Open either, but that's what it is

He's still a remarkable young player who likes to take risks at crunch time. And he's reaping rewards for it now
