Bery tuff opponent. Novak gonna haff to try his best, no?Nole is not in good enough form. I see a tough battle here.
No that is for Nadal when he was heavy fav.Bery tuff opponent. Novak gonna haff to try his best, no?
I'm hoping his opponent has something to say about that (I'm an admirer of Djok's, but not a fan of his tennis).Djoker need this match to raise his level.
It could easily be an exit for Djokovic or a tough 5 setter. As we know musetti can play on clay. This is the first real test for Novak in the tournament. This will be a clear step up in the competition and there are still questions marks over Djokovic.
Does he maintain decent form from second round, or does the mind slip up again?

I beg to disagree, anyone with a one hander is ripe for Nadal's Fed playbook. Hammer his one hander till he gives up.I would agree with this. Can't see past this one to the fourth round, Lorenzo is not someone you overlook on clay.
Payback time for what happened three years ago.Djoko with the toughest draw in 3R out of all top seeds. Musetti will cause some problems. Hopefully Djoko can continue the way he has.
It won't be easy straight sets.Easy straight sets win for Djokovic. He‘ll have a slow start but then he steamrolls Musetti after he gets his first break.
Payback time for what happened three years ago.
Musetti will seek to be the third Italian player to reach the fourth round.
The end of the long reign for the world number 1 is getting closer.

A 22-year-old player, in his prime, should retire his 37-year-old rival, on his worst surface, and what better motivation than to continue with the high level shown by his compatriots in the tournament. The slam of paybacks. Zverev got his payback on Nadal and sent him packing, maybe that will inspire Musetti.

No, ending his executioner for what happened in 2021, should be the greatest inspiration for Musetti.Well said. Well said. Zverev though should be the real inspiration.

He’s in Djokovic threads more than his idol’s threads. Djokovic has pained him and rent free in his head!Look, you speak about payback against a past his prime 37 year old, well that is exactly what Zverev dished out, sending the old man home. Musetti can get inspiration from that to do the same thing.

Or is that a sore point for you right now?![]()

What's your outcome, pal?Let's be real, if il Muchete beats Djoko, gonna be the same excuses, no?

Nah. If musetti wins he has just been the better player on the day. No excuses at all. Excuses is a loser approach.Let's be real, if il Muchete beats Djoko, gonna be the same excuses, no?

Just sit back and watch. You should get your wish as I don’t think Djokovic will win this RG. I would say Zverev based off form. Try not to get too heavily invested thoughWho will defeat your idol at RG:
Musetti, Cerundolo, Ruud, Zverev, Sinner/Alcaraz?

Of course, the decline of all players is inevitable and Djokovic will not be the exception.Just sit back and watch. You should get your wish as I don’t think Djokovic will win this RG. I would say Zverev based off form. Try not to get too heavily invested though![]()

Exactly right. It so much easier to just accept a loss with grace rather than try work out all sorts of mental gymnastics as to why your favourite player lost. It the same conditions for both and the better player will win. It that simple to just take the loss like a man and move on.Oh the roof was closer, oh it was a night session, oh he wasn't ready....
Nope, Musetti was just better player, and deserves it.
That is obvious and can happen very soon. I would be worried Djokovic really wasn’t human or an alien if he didn’t! HahaOf course, the decline of all players is inevitable and Djokovic will not be the exception.

Alcaraz the favourite and also plenty of other players in mix. It very open this year I feel.Exactly, slam race is over now, just enjoy the tennis stress free.
I've got Alcaraz winning the title anyway.
Physically, do you see him playing five sets unlike his match three years ago?il Mago is my favorite player under 30, and Djoko is probably my least favorite player of all time. To say I'm rooting for Musetti here is a huge understatement lol

The only thing that's constant about Djoko is that he always does the thing I'm hoping he doesn't do. Usually, that's "destroy a player I like after being down" so I expect that to happen here
Djoko was absolutely scarred and scared by their last two meetings. There is no chance Musetti catches him napping here and every chance that Djoko and his team have been preparing assiduously.
So there is a small chance that Musetti is playing so well that it doesn't matter what Djoko does. Musetti has the talent to rip the racquet out of anyone's hands and has improved his movement and fitness considerably since their last match, let alone since the French Open scare.
They played a crap match in MC just a few weeks. Both sucked badly.
Musetti can defeat your idol, he was already very close to doing so when he was still a teenager and now he is physically better suited for a tough battle that could reach the decisive set.Clearly you don't understand tennis
Djokovic on his worst surface is more times better than most players on their best surface. He is the GOAT. If musetti fails it's not because he is a mug. No matter how much you will cry if he does.
Do you want tissues sir.
