Let's hope for a good one! Will we have a first time champion this year?

I could see nerves getting to Djokovic. Man are they hyping him up everywhere, could end up jinxing him. He's on the cover of every magazine in the world.

Hope thats not the case and we get a thriller 5 setter in the final between the 2 best claycourters this season. (no Ferrer is not one of them)

Damn. Bellucci, Gasquet, Del Potro, Federer  Could Djokovic`s draw be any harder.

Nadal with another cake walk to the final.

Federer could go out in Rd 1 against Lopez
Nadal gets big server Isner in Rd 1.
If Gasquet decides to play he could give fits to Joker in the Rd of 16.
Soderling gets another crack at Nadal in QF and then Murray in SF.
Wawrinka\Tsonga R3, Montanes/Hewitt R1, Gasquet/Stepanek R1, Gulbis/Del Potro R2
Very interesting draw.

The number 2 ranked player has won his tournament for the past 6 years. This year it would Novak Djokovic

Ha, that's a peculiar stat. If Nadal had known this last week, would he have thrown an early round match in Rome in order to lose his #1 ranking (and thereby absolutely guarantee himself the FO title). ;)

British bookmakers favour Nadal at 4/5 against Djokovic at 13/8 (i.e. betting $10 on Djokovic would yield about 2x the profit, so the oddmakers reckon Nadal is "twice as likely to win" [sic]. My gut feeling agrees, since like Fed, Nadal is a different ballgame at the slams, especially in Paris.

Federer is the third favourite with odds of 14/1, then Murray at 16/1 and Soderling at 25/1. So the bookies see a Nadal-Djokovic final as almost a certainty ~ there's good money to be made on an each-way bet...

I posted this elsewhere but I had a dream that Djokovic beat Nadal in the FO final. Nadal threw his racket. It was on green surface and I also made out with both of them. Nadal didn't mind losing because he met me.

So yeah pretty accurate dream........
I'm putting $20 on Djokovic.

I had a dream that it was another Murray - Djokovic final, but they decided it would be too boring again, so instead, it was Judy Murray against Dijana Djokovic. Judy won 6-0 6-0 0-6 0-6 6-0 and during her acceptance speech said the king's mother is dead and announced she would now be working with team Nadal. Im pretty sure it will happen too

Just how many had that dream? Seems to be real common.

Nadal's draw is pretty good overall. Isner in the first round might be a bit of a tester, and there's potentially the Davydenko match-up problem. Potential opponent in Soderling in the quarter finals and Murray/Almagro/Melzer in a potential semi final.

Djokovic has dangerous potential opponents in his eighth of the draw, let alone beyond that.

As for Federer, having Lopez in the first round isn't exactly the easiest start he could have had.

Even though Lopez has been playing some good ball on clay, I don't think he should give Fed too much trouble. I see a straight sets victory for Roger in that one, conditions being slower than in Madrid and all. Excited for this tournament to start, should be very interesting.....

possible ferrer federer quarter? i cannot decide who will win that one...

Ferrer always does well at the clay courts events during the season and when it comes to the French he struggles.Maybe he doesn`t like the changing conditions so i wouldn`t be surprised if he doesn`t even get to the quarters.

Rafa vs Isner huh, ouch lol. Well at least Rafa will have to be aggressive and not sleep his way through the opening round, and get a good feel on how to return. Dunno how I feel about the human backboard Davydenko.

Davydenko is never a problem in slams. He sucks tremendous ass in 5-set matches. He may be even tanking them - to stay fresh the whole season and earn a lot of money in 3-setters.

The real question is whether he can make the first round, so Nadal reduces their H2H to 5-6. I am not sure if they will meet in the second.

Ryan Harrison goes down in final round of qualies.....there goes the american hope on red dirt. He could have taken out Novak.

i dont know too much about the selection process but how exactly does nadal get matched up with isner while murray gets prodon who is 118 in the world? also, it seems odd that isner or nadal won't make it to the second round yet tobias kamake or olivier rochus will. what's up with that?

Unseeded players are randomly assigned spots in the draw.....so a seeded player could potentially play the number 33 ranked player in the world or the 100th ranked player in the world in the first round.

Nadal will win this tournament.

Remember last year, how lots of people were saying this is a great chance for Soderling to beat Nadal and win the French open. and JP Mcenroe was saying Soderling has great chance to win the final..........and we all saw what happened ......:) same stuff with Novak, i think.

Muhahaaa

Nadal fans patting each other backs. They are soo worried now.

God knows if they could get their hands on Djoko what they would do to him

I'm a Rafa fan and I love Novak. He has a great personality, gives credit where it's due and isn't a sore loser (when he was losing). No problem with Novak doing well, but I still think Rafa will win this.

Djoker needs to get there fresh. If Delpo gives him hard time and later on Rodge or someone else then he cant really afford facing Nadal half spent.

This goes for Nadal as well. If Murray takes him to 4 hrs that would be the same problem.

If world #1 can no longer win his favorite slam at 24, what can he win then?

He is a clear favorite at RG, despite his recent djokovitis.

F.Lopez vs Fed in RD1. That'll be an interesting match. Lopez should have won their last match. A dangerous one for Fed.

Poor John Isner. Drawing Nadal in round 1.

A lot deppends on the conditions. If it`s hot out there and fast conditions Lopez will try to serve well and get into tight 50-50 situations like he did in Madrid but if it`s rainy and slow i don`t think he has any chance to hang in those baseline rallies with Federer

Djokovic is too good right now, and if he beats up on everyone in the early rounds he should actually get some rest with the days in between.

Just found out that Hewitt withdrew before his match against Montanes. He was replaced by lucky looser Gicquel
