Its interesting how the French have had so many good players consistently but have not had a great player in the open era. No GOAT candidates at all but they always have a few guys in the top 20.
 
It`s almost 7 hours since the first match began on Lenglen and the second match is still going.Wouldn`t be a surprise if Ferrer-Monfils will come back tomorrow to finish it

Agree. If Murray still has an ankle problem against a player of Troicki's calibre then Murray is finnished.
Thought Murray had a decent chance of winning the French Open this year the way he played against Djokovic in Rome and should have beaten him serving for the match.

I think the Croats siding with the Nazis during the war and murdering 3/4 of a million Serbs in concentration camps will take a lot of getting over.
People think only Serbs are the bad guys.
I think also Croats being Roman Catholics and the Serbs from the Eastern Aurthodox church is another unspoken division.
 
Monfils is a bad matchup for Ferrer. Wouldnt be an upset at all if Monfils wins. Neither have any chance vs Federer in the semis if he mantains his current form though.

Well i don`t know about this matchup.This is their third match against each other and all their matches have been in France and Monfils does way better in his country then in other places.So i think the 2-0 record is overrated
 
On clay Monfils is a bad matchup for Ferrer since Ferrer does not have enough power to hit enough winners against someone as fast as Monfils. On a faster court Ferrer would have more chance.

He manages to hit through Murray though, i think Monfils hits with more depth.

Are you trying to dismiss their previous matches for being in France when their current match...is in France?

Nice - glad this is suspended. It means Murray won't have to take to court until about 5pm GMT tomorrow. If there is a bit of rain, you never know, he might not have to play at all until Tuesday..... :)
