I don't know why posters find players potentially getting injured something funny. He's 37. At this age, Federer said no mas and didn't even play RG. Nadal talks about his injuries every other day.

Yeah but they were really injured...

Sometimes I think that he’s genuinely hypochondriac. He really believes he has those ghost injuries.

No one believes he's actually injured lol. The guy apparently won the AO with a torn hamstring and also a torn abdominal.

Wow, you're still on that? :D He just told the trainer "I dunno, it happened just now".
I’m just old enough to have a pretty good idea what happened on that point in game 12 of the first set vs Musetti, even tho Novak probably didn’t realize its ramifications yet.

For me at least it's not the injury itself but the fact that he'll still beat up on Cerundolo and Ruud and probably all the rest. The last time an injury cost Novak a slam match was 2019 – and it's not like he just hasn't been injured since then.

Nothing funny about it, but at this age Federer made the semi finals of RG and then the final of Wimbledon.

All we can do is speculate. None of us know what’s going with Djokovic body. We will see how it plays out.

I agree. Zverev has the game to reach the final here.
You overestimate Zverev always. He hasn't done anything in his entire career. And he is before the Gen of Med, Titsp etc. Zedzilla has not won a slam even against a depleted Thiem when he had the chance.
It's too late for Goldie Chainz.

Nole is holding all the main category records and is the far-away GOAT without needing to win any future match—what a crazy luxury.

Devoted haters are getting really pathetic...

At this age Federer played in 2018. He skipped RG. He made the SF a year later after not playing the tournament for 4 years.

Its not necessarily too late. Zverev on paper seems to have the best stats of anyone who hasnt won a Slam (maybe ever).
Wawrinka did jack until he was 28 to be fair... and Zverev won't have to go through peak Big 3. He can beat Alcaraz and Sinner on the odd occasion

Yea Djokovic can never be injured. The only athlete in history it seems.
lol you still can't reply without strawman it seems.

Of course that's not what I said. He can be injured and has been injured in the past. Whether this is an injury or a more minor issue isn't clear though. The fact is he's claimed to have significant muscle tears and still won slams, so excuse me if I think he's prone to a little exaggeration.

Can Djokovic defend his title ?

It was absolutely unthinkable a few days ago with the pathetic loss to Machac, but the unthinkable is becoming slowly the thinkable.

Ruud and Zverev will be hard but doable as they can be suspect mentally and Zverev should have lost to Griekspoor. We know Zverev always fail in importants matches which matter (USO F 2020, AO QF 2021, USO SF 2021, FO SF 2022, FO SF 2023, AO SF 2024)

Only against Sinner Djokovic wouldn't be the favorite. I think he has chances against Alcaraz as he win the last two matches against him.
It was never unthinkable with Djoker's draw and the physical state of Alcaraz and Sinner tbh.

Roland Garros 2018 Federer was 36. So yes, younger than this Federer skipped Roland Garros.

Hm. He definitely isn’t moving perfectly but he isn’t moving badly either. Cerundolo beginning to test the sliding defense here.

I could see him taking this set.

Why would he call for a MTO after winning the first set 61? He felt something and it worried him enough to call for the trainer. There's no big conspiracy here imo.

The leg doesn’t look too bad. He’s running normally. Only seems to hurt when static. I think he can finish the match.

If he doesn't win this set, he better go home.
