I'll say it again. It was a cruel decision to give Juanpi a day match today... forced him to play one of the greatest players in less than 36 hours after his third 5th set win on the trot.

Djoko's straight sets match against Fokina took about as long as Varillas's last match, lol

Well I’d rather not compare genders but the ladies usually do get a night session or two at RG

And honestly Stephens-Sabalenka is far more intriguing tennis than this. It was always going to be a one-sided romp ending with Varillas dead on his feet.

Ladies definitely deserve a couple of the night matches, IMO. It's a shorter session in Paris - one of the issues.

Agreed. Very meticulous, clinical and focused. This is the Djokovic I've been wanting to see. Exceptional control. No uncharacteristic errors, DFs, drunken shots etc. Just in super control. Great timing too for what is to come.
Yea it's been very good so far. I say so far because he still has to serve it out and he's not immune to lapses. Lol.

Alcaraz might be stressed seeing Novak play like this. Clear message to the rest of the ATP.

Not really. Djokovic knew he had a great chance to win this match.

Once he's 100% in the driver seat, he will play freely like this.

However a stressful windy match, where he has to serve for the set or sees an opponent playing well, I'm not sure he's capable of handling pressure these days.

17th QF for Novak. And damn he looks every bit as good as his first five.
It is crazy the level of tennis he displays at his age.
He is defying the natural laws of aging and the universe.

Predictable result, when he’s playing an opponent who really is sort of R1 level. Cant really tell how he’s going to perform against a top level player.
Really? He dismantled a well playing ADF and fuskovics in straights. And slaughtered another player today. You are still questioning his level?
This tennis from Novak is better than anytime in the clay season and up there with his AO and slam winning level.

Tennis will get boring unless we have a next gen superstar who can beat Novak at slam level. Kind of what Nadal did to Fed and Novak did to Fedal.
Just not convinced that that guy is Alcaraz though.

You mean like he played against Fokina in the last round ?

Any journalist who doesn’t ask Novak in his post-match press conference why he’s helping a scam company siphon money off of vulnerable MS patients is a coward.

Should we focus on the fact that Djokovic is great in the first week of the FO (17th QF) or that he sucks majorly in the second week (2 titles)?

Rafa Nadal (2-8), and then Stan's fault. Many ways to look at it. He's definitely had his opportunities. To me, it's unfortunate we couldn't see Alcaraz or Djokovic against Nadal this year.
