How tricky could this be for the No 1? Daniel has beaten a number of top players this year including Ruud and Zverev although he hasn’t had notable results on clay this season.

One previous meeting Carlos couldn’t remember when asked about, back in 2021 in a challenger

Another destruction incoming

3rd and 4th rounds are where the matches will become somewhat interesting. This will be a laugher.

Daniel is a good grinder, so he's not the easiest opponent in the world on a clay court if you're not playing well, but if Alcaraz is anywhere close to where he was in round 1 he's got way too much for the guy to live with him.

True, Daniel doesn’t really have any weapons.

Carlos breaks 2-0

It really is hard to see anyone having a chance vs. this Carlos. I say that with all due respect to Djokovic - what he ONCE was could handle Carlos just fine, but what he is NOW… I don’t see it.
I think it’s closer than that tbh. Carlos can have a tendency to overhit and go for too much. He’s not doing that right now but a semi at RG v Djokovic has a lot of pressure going with it.

I don't think Alcaraz is the favourite over Djokovic by as much as people are claiming......

I think me might be but it's a slight favourite and nothing much more than that.

Alcaraz will win if he can limit the mistakes. He has the highest level on clay now but must stay focused and consistent.

Carlos is the favourite. Maybe not massively but Alcaraz should win if they meet on current form. If Djokovic reaches the semis it’s a positive tournament and anything more is a bonus.
