Roland Garros Seed Predictions

The Roland Garros seeding situation isn't entirely settled, but it's getting close. We'll summarize it by tiers:
#1: Roger Federer
#2: Lleyton Hewitt if he plays; otherwise, Andy Roddick
#3-#4: Roddick if he isn't #2, plus Marat Safin. If Hewitt withdraws, then Rafael Nadal earns the #4 seed.
#5-#8: Nadal if he isn't #4, Gaudio, Agassi, then either Henman or Coria, depending on whether Coria makes the final. If Hewitt withdraws, both Henman and Coria will be seeded in this block
#9-#12: Henman or Coria, if not seeded higher, Canas, and Nalbandian are set. If Hewitt doesn't play, then Joachim Johansson is also set; in that case, then the #12 is either Ivan Ljubicic or Davydenko, depending on whether Davydenko makes the semifinal. If Hewitt does play, the Johansson gets #12 unless Davydenko makes the final.
#13-#16: If Hewitt plays, then Ljubicic, Moya, Robredo, and either Stepanek or Davydenko, depending on whether Davydenko makes the semifinal. If Hewitt doesn't play, same list, except that either Ljubicic or Davydenko gets promoted a seeding tier.
#17-#24: If Hewitt plays, then Stepanek or Davydenko, Hrbaty, Ancic, Thomas Johansson, David Ferrer, Tommy Haas, and two of the group Nicolas Massu, Sebastien Grosjean, Filippo Volandri, and Juan Ignacio Chela. Volandri clinches a spot in this group with a semifinal; Chela needs a final. If Hewitt doesn't play, Massu clinches and Feliciano Lopez will get a spot if Volandri and Chela lose
#25-#32: Whoever fails to get the spots above, plus Fernando Gonzalez, Jiri Novak, Nicolas Kiefer, Taylor Dent (if he plays), and Mikhail Youzhny. Gasquet can join this group with a final. Christophe Rochus could make it if he wins the whole thing and Chela loses his next match. If Hewitt doesn't play, then Ferrero also gets seeded if Gasquet fails to make the final and Rochus doesn't win the event.

Why do we need to predict seeds when you can look at the seeding below, and take out the people that aren't playing:
Because these rankings will change on Monday based on what has happened this week. Some players lost points in Hamburg, others are gaining them, and we still don't know how it will end up. And we also don't know who is/is not playing RG. Moya may not be fit.

Also, a certain 18-year-old would have moved to No. 6 if Gaudio had reached the semis. He didn't, so that ranking is certain, but others are still up in the air. It depends on what the remaining players do in Hamburg.

At least it's far easier to predict than the Wimbledon seedings. Those always depend on the exact formula they decide to use.
