There is already a statue of Fred Perry there.
Fred Perrys ashes was previously burried under the grass at CC. When the roof was made made his ashes was moved to under his statue. Dont think they can top that
such a statue would belong there:I nominate the squatting part of this one in still form:
In all seriousness, add another vote for the buggy whip FH. That's his signature.
And yes it should be after he retires. It should be that way for everybody IMO.

Depending on the context, I can imagine a great deal of Le Resistance from the french public to a Nadal commemoration.
I hope it happens. The man deserves it. There will be a generation of french people who will not have the same dislike for him as a lot of french people do currently, and this statue will fuel their imagination of him and showcase his achievements at that tournament.
Well, dont ask me. But it hasnt been any talk about Fed having a statue there. There is something about him in the Museum at the venue. Why not 2 Fred's? 2 are always better than 1.
What Le Resistance?
Yep, it's your imagination. You may confuse the French public with the TTW "public".
Also by French you mean the RG crowd? Rafa said he had some problems with the crowd at RG only. Else where in France, in Paris itself, he only feels people's love for him (his words). Don't think he's not truthful.
NOSo will Fred get a statue in Wimbledon?
I'm uncomfortable with any active player having a statue or stadium named after them (especially at a slam).
The French people love Rafa it's the Fedfans in the crowd who shout the loudest. The statue is going to happen. The decision has been taken, Rafa has been told and he is having a say in the design.Depending on the context, I can imagine a great deal of Le Resistance from the french public to a Nadal commemoration.

It's not up to you though so just accept something you have no say in.Same here! If at all it should be after the player retires

It will be a well deserved statue. Barcelona and Monte Carlo should do one each too

I think this statue is supposed to be a not so subtle hint. What do you think @vive le beau jeu !Another vote for definitely 'after he's retired'.
Has anyone told you that you don't have a vote?Another vote for definitely 'after he's retired'.
I'd go with the FH follow through with the arm around his head pose.
Where's Andy's statue? He's got the same number of Madrid titles as Novak!

I wonder if you are the leading producer of it in your country of origin or there is some competition ?
@Mainad, what about you?
this touching moment when 2 half-brains separated at birth get back together after stepping in the same dog poop...Some people just can't hide their jealousy of the Great Rafael Nadal.

Murray has 3 grand slams. He does not belong in the conversation and will only be a footnote to the Big 3 when history looks back on this era.

Don't you worry.
If such a thing come to pass the french will find a way to express their opinion of the Nadal in some subtle way or another (imagine VLBJ creating the statue, you get what I am saying).
It will be there for as long as the tournament is what it is too!
i'm fine, thank you tushy ! and you ?Hey Man, whats up?
direct line to tio toni's coaching office ?...Breaking news. They already finished the prototype design. It's a futuristic sculpture of Nadal!
Well, I read this forum nearly daily without fail.I have a job and I just don't get enough time to make any meaningful posts.i'm fine, thank you tushy ! and you ?
we see you less often around here...
What's Sharapova got to do with Nadal?Halep gets Sharapova in R1 - rofl
Any statues should be erected AFTER a player retires from the game not while they are still actively playing IMO.
Murray doesn't deserve a statue anywhere. He is worlds behind the big 3.Murray has 3 grand slams. He does not belong in the conversation and will only be a footnote to the Big 3 when history looks back on this era.
Rod: "Same time next year, Rogi?"
Roger: "Sure Rod. Why not?"
Rafa: " I no wanna do this no more. Okay?"
You seem to be suggesting that vive should get a job.Well, I read this forum nearly daily without fail.I have a job and I just don't get enough time to make any meaningful posts.
This topic deserves it's own thread so bringing it over here from Nadal news thread.
Nominate your picture/pose for the Nadal statue. Here's mine.
Roger:" Thats alright Im still gonna win one of these."
Björn: "Six more times, Rafa!"
Rafa: "Why not?"
