Damn, looks like it was a great one, sad I missed it. Instead I watched in person as my football team got embarrassed at home, good times.

When was the last time he won a match with fewer points than the opponent?
Not that long ago: Miami 2017 QF against poor Birdman.

It was really, really scrappy, with a handful of flashes.
By any objective measure, Coric was the superior player here, took 4 of 11 break points, and led 5-2 then 6-4 at the final breaker.
This outcome goes against logic.

Still can't believe Fed pulled it off.
Coric was the stronger and better player. Federer just stayed stable to push it to tiebreaker
At the end it's just one point difference

He just held his nerve right at the end when it mattered the most. Its a great win from him, especially being the 2nd match of the day

i dont know but it seems he is widely unliked :D

There's just something so droning about Coric's game. He never ventures to the net, has zero flair and seems to have a punky type of quiet arrogance about him (Zverev is more ostentatiously arrogant). Corc just stands back there like a boring-ass ball machine and never mixes it up. Compare him to players like Nick or Fog who are unpredictable and interesting. Coric is just plain dull to lots of fans.

He doesn't need any additional rest, even if he makes the final (obviously highly improbable), he has a full week of rest before RG begins.

He felt tired after Halle last year, coming away with a win from Stuttgart, remember? It may or may not make him tired if he keeps playing 2.5 hrs even with the 1 week break. That's why he's taking a month of holiday these days.

Its hard to explain what is not appealing about him but there are more than a few who are not interesting right now. At least tsitsipas, nick, Fabio and Sascha can incite some passion about the outcome for good or bad. Basilashvili and Djere for example was like watching paint dry.

He doesn't really expect to win in Paris. I think he's playing for fun this year. Testing everything out and seeing what he's still capable of. The answer is some solid play, some flashes of brilliance and some error prone moments. I'm just glad he's still playing.

He would still prefer to be in the best form and fitness level as possible and do his best in slams.

Didn't watch the match at all but from highlights Roger was poor in the first set. This win should do wonders for his confidence, he won a lot less points and still managed to eke out a win.
