Last year Novak's SF started 1 hour later and final was 1 hour earlier.

But yeah, player with more time to rest was a Rome champion every time since Novak won in spite of it in 2011.

Yes. the scheduling in Rome has always been bad.

Diego will go into the match in less than 18 hours. I think odds are stacked against him . One thing certain - it will be a better final than Raonic.

Djokovic's draw here has been Caruso, Krajinovic, Koepfer and Ruud.

At Cinci it was Berankis, Sandgren, Struff, Agut and Raonic

At USO it was Dzumhur, Edmund, Struff and Busta.

That is a whole lot of players who dont amount to much competition.

This may be the first real test after Agut match.

Given that Shapovalov was bossing Diego all of set 2 And 3, Diego is done and it is going to be 2 quick and easy sets for Djokovic

I'd go for Djokovic in two sets. Not sure how much Diego has left in him after his win over Rafa and today's long semifinal.

Good tournament altogether. Schwartzman with a great run, Ruud too, Shapovalov improving. After two younger players contesting the US Open final, I like how tennis has been shaping up with many different names in the ending stages lately. Even with Djokovic still being there regularly.

2016 and 2019 were cases of really bad luck with scheduling/inspired opponents in QF and SF for Novak, he lost the finals even before stepping on the court.
