Djokovic is ready for Roland Garros, guys.
I guess what I'm frustrated with is that there are players with the ability, just not the mentality.Yeah. I see all the stuff about him winning a boatload of matches this year but he really hasn't been anywhere close to the unstoppable beast he was in 2011 and 2015. He's unbeatable more because no one has the ability to beat him rather than him having a very high level.
Or Raonic in Cincy. Or even Schwartzman here.I guess what I'm frustrated with is that there are players with the ability, just not the mentality.
There was no reason Thiem couldn't have beaten him in Australia for Monfils in Dubai.
He did enough to win. No need to do more.Novak has declined so much on clay that he is currently holding the Madrid and Rome masters titles....
not sure if seriousNovak has declined so much on clay that he is currently holding the Madrid and Rome masters titles....
Diego definitely had a tougher one, but that's simply because Nadal was there. Obviously Djokovic had a simple draw but I don't think the result would have changed if Diego met Ruud and Djokovic met Shapo.Congrats Novak on the easier draw
Exactly it’s a myth. I’d love to be a declined clay player with them stats hahaNovak has declined so much on clay that he is currently holding the Madrid and Rome masters titles....
Diego made some errors on normal shots that he typically doesn't(probably from mental or physical fatigue). Congratulations Djoker.
He will be ready in FO.......don't worry about that.Djokovic is putting too much pressure on himself going after number of tournament wins, just like Serena.
The moment he faces any opposition, he's getting frustrated. I think he'll lose in R3 or R4 at FO.
Federer is just one Hamburg title short for completing the triple-5 on clay, hard and grass.Djokovic on the verge of becoming the oldest Rome champion in open era history and also joining Nadal as the only two players to win a specific torunament on clay and on hard at least 5 times each.
I think demoting the tournament in 2009 really hurts him here. That clay suited him pretty well and he ended up winning 2009 Madrid (which replaced Hamburg).Federer is just one Hamburg title short for completing the triple-5 on clay, hard and grass.
I thought I just said that.Dude played a 3+ hour match last night against Shapovalov that went past 1 AM local time. Of course, he comes into this one tired af.

Novak is BY FAR the favorite for Roland Garros IMO.
He is playing his best. And in the wet damp conditions - he is unbeatable.
I think he could beat BOTH Thiem and Nadal back to back if that is what it took to win his 2nd French Open.
#18 is coming soon. And he wouldn't need more slams to be called the GOAT.
A 2nd French Open would be something that Federer NEVER did and will do.
