Rome entry list is out. No federer in it.

Federer not on an entry list is no new thing. I suppose it was expected he would be in Rome. I think expectations and let downs is the swing Federer fans must be prepared to ride.

Federer just keeping his options open, if he feels he needs to play, he will, you can bet they will give him a WC even if it is one minute before they start the event.

Perhaps Sampras should come back and play against Fedr in R1 at some tournament? Perhaps Fedr would have a chance to win against him when he cannot win against almost any player now? Perhaps it would have been prudent to have retired before the surgery? But perhaps Rolex is still paying well?

Geneva and on to the grass? Or just skip clay all together I have been saying I still don’t think he will play FO. But obviously now it’s a week break he could do Geneva and straight onto FO

Rome and Monte Carlo will always be the 2 Masters missing from his resumé.
Forget about all those losses to nadal after match point or muggery against mantilla, even 2014-15 fedberg could win those 2.
He can blame himself for not capitalising on his biggest piegon in 2014 MC final after a set & break up in set2.
And also for not coming out with all guns blazing against nole in 2015 Rome final, especially given that nole was struggling against & dropping sets to every tom, dick and harry that week, whereas roger himself was in a great shape. Yet laid an egg in the final, 4-6 3-6.

Fed should just play grass and Wimbledon for the next five years.

Surprised Federer is even bothering with the clay season. He has little/no chance of winning any clay tournaments at his age unless the field is really easy.
