Rome, finally a tournament with a great camera angle.

I must say I'm really impressed by this Rome tournament again.
Besides the fact that this court looks awesome with it's black back and side walls, they also know what is the right camera angle to use.

Just check this lousy camera angle at Paris, and you'll know what I mean:

Wish more tournaments would use a similar angle as tennis is sooo much more enjoyable to watch like this.

true. better camera angles can really show off the pace of shots and the speed of players. they really break the "i can do that" illusion that worse angles can give.

this angle wins by far :p

thanks to one of our form members. What i like best about it is how it's a little zoomed in and follows the action slightly making it more dynamic. The 90 year old cronies working at TV stations really need to get their act together and hire some young guns willing to try new things. Get the fans in the action not these stupid 10 mile high aerial views for gramps

Yeah, I was thinking about that too watching Almagro and Soderling today. But I think the angle and height they position the camera has more to do with the design of the central stadium; it's not a very big stadium with tall structures.

Whatever the reason, it makes up for a great angle for tennis fans.

The Anglos have a greater fondness for the 'bird's eye shot' with the 'eye level shot' more for colour.

It gives the spectator the illusion of control at the expense of a more visceral experience.
